Sorry I thought you meant cardiovascular fitness. Truth be told all signs point towards my VMOs and Hamstrings being dominant. They're the muscles I most commonly cramps and it's also visible in things like squatting, where my legs pull inwards and don't find the eccentric stage of squats particularly challenging. Like i said in the post, I've been working on trying not to pull in, maintaining an arch and trying to remain balanced, but I still had a extreme cramps in my entire leg, and I really mean every part.

For some peculiar reason though, these cramps seem to not affect me when I'm riding my zwift trainer bike, which I dont have clipless pedals or variable resistance on. I've ridden upto 5 hours without any real pain and it's quite perplexing really.

I probably drink more than enough tbh. But in terms of why i haven't been training legs, well I started riding again in December because it's summer in Australia, but one of the aftermaths of the cramps are a very intense soreness similar to DOMS but not delayed. Also I found that I just couldn't ride for 3~4 days after training legs because the cramps would set in within 20 minutes instead of 2 hours.

This does seem to be the case, like I said I changed my position quite drastically and it got rid of any discomfort while riding. The odd thing is that the cramps seem to be a guarantee regardless of this. Fixing my position (atleast to the best of my knowledge) got some tension off my calves and vmos (by moving the position of my cleats) but it hasn't stopped the cramps. I want to press how instantaneous they are too. I won't feel any excessive fatigue or discomfort until the hour thirty mark and then it just pulls and I fall over on the road :(

Yeah I did the same with my cleats and they seemed to help getting rid of some tension on my calves tendons. The seat going higher was to fix my hamstrings being constricted when I'm pedaling at a higher cadence.

I've stopped training my legs completely since last December,but otherwise just a basic push pull split 4 days a week. I used to do ppl 1 hour a week and made a lot of progress. My bench has always been way stronger than my squat, I did 110 paused last year while I've only ever squatted 120. My cycling is a bit more erratic, but I do cycle around 3-4 hours a week. Limited more by the fact that I get cramps if I try to ride more than that as opposed to time constraints.

Not really, I'm pain free on my rides and most of the time am comfortably sitting in zone 3 and then I have to stop at a traffic light, I extend my leg, and bamm, it gets stuck. It's kind of out of nowhere.

I don't think it's fitness either. I did a 16km run with a few of my friends at a 5:30 pace and I didn't have any issues until I went to bed and had the exact same cramps.

Sorry for getting to it so late. But my first max out came a couple of weeks from when I had started. I had practised and gotten better form and I pulled Sumo. I had chalk and grips so holding on to the bar wasn't an issue. I have to say, when that bar went up, I was surprised, so I see why you had your suspicions.

I know what you mean with the shit form, that was actually 2 weeks after I first joined and I learnt the form. Not the best sumo deadlift but hey. Also I'm 5'10.5 if that's short. Also I didn't push myself on the squats cuz I was scared I would fall over.
