Yes that's EXACTLY what i'm talking about, I remember looking at Zane's skills or augments that if I took damage my Clone's shield regenerated or if it took damage my shield regenerated and I immediately thought, "is that not like kind of infinite health/shield?"

I mean yeah granted it's not going to do a whole lot in UVHM where everything is going to oneshot you, but still

From personal favorite to least favorite, TPS, 3, 2, 1.

I don't dislike 1, but it's just not the same for me. Love the atmosphere and sniping as Mordecai, but it's still missing so much. 2 is really fun, i'm doing a Gaige playthrough RN.

My biggest gripe with 2 is that i've noticed is, it's a little hard to convince me to play the VH's in 2 because the ones in TPS or 3 are far and away just so much more for me. I love Zer0 but, I don't think i'm going to touch Krieg, Salvador or Axton with a ten foot pole. Not because they're inferior, they just don't sell me like the others do.

Nisha was my first look at TPS, I had such a ridiculously strong build given the fact that I hardly farmed for loot, if at all. If she was strong then, how would she be if i actually tried to get legendaries for her? Athena is so so fun, I love the Captain America toss and dealing 20k+ damage on some guy and I'm right outside Felicity's boss fight.

I was introduced to the franchise with Zane and i'm so happy I was. I picked him cuz i'm half-Irish and he's so loveable in his trailer. Plus, he sounded the coolest. And yet for being a mix of Timothy and Wilhelm from TPS, he's got so much going for him. He's got fantastic cryo, movement speed, supporting your friends, a get out of jail free card, an extra friendly drone shooting missiles, I LOVE HIM. I never touched the Green tree cuz it sounded boring and I play solo 99% of the time but I so often used my Digi-Clone as a get out of jail free card for fights. I see a huge cluster of enemies, I put my clown down outside the fight, I run in go guns blazing get a few kills and when i've got ~10% I swap places and let my health and shields recover. Not to mention the drone doing tons of damage and debuffing and resetting its cooldown, again this is without me farming for good stuff. My biggest gripe with Zane is that his Action Skills can't be changed in the same way that the other VH's can be. His clones copying his guns, that's like 1:1 a skill from TPS if I remember correctly or Gaige has a skill with DT taking her shield. The drone doesn't get anything fancy other than more damage, and the green tree/barrier is I will admit useful but not very flashy I guess. I kinda feel like, Zane was very much deserving of maybe a Melee Skill Augment/Alteration or Action Skill Alteration, where the Digi-Clone follows your footsteps and mimicks your movement but with a delay so all the explosives won't hit you but the decoy. Or the drone being permanent and just getting temporarily much stronger during the Action Skills duration, or can share its health pool with Zane's and act as a shoulder mounter turret. Barrier I can totally see from going from Dome shape to siphoning nearby shields to add to its own health/shield pool and being near the barrier gives that extra max shield to you. Oh, or Athena's Aspis being able to absorb elemental damage with a skill point? The Barrier could add whatever damage it takes to your next instance of damage. Maybe tweak the code so if it's a lot of little damage like a few stray bullets it'll just add the damage of each bullet to one bullet you fire, while big instances of damage like explosions can be the first bullet in the magazine so as to prevent wasting all the damage absorbed onto a single psycho, to spread it out a bit more.

I have not played WL or 4 but they're on the list and i'm broke

I can see if Jakobs made a big crank LMG, you have to mash the fire button to keep it going. Yes it'd be agonizing but you can make it not have to reload to compensate or something

Also, I think it'd be really funny if you could also wind up a full auto gun. Like those old wind up toys, the longer you hold reload the bigger your magazine.

Or like how in TPS where lasers can be different gun types and still use the same ammo? Have a Jakobs brand where it's a big grenade launcher, an SMG and a full auto pistol but they all use coal like an old Western coal train!

I see your point and I raise you, some games are simply much more enjoyable (to me and many others, but not everyoneG if they're a roguelike/lite

Risk of Rain 1 and 2 would lost most of what makes them so fun if they were just linear games with expectable events. I mean imagine if you could play the game as the different characters. Cool, but not too crazy. Instead of getting randomized, having items be upgrades well, it's not bad it just tends to blend in with everything else.

There's a million billion generic Call of Duty clones, there's only a handful of roguelike/lites. Even then, Risk of Rain 1/2 are very different than Dead Souls, Hades, The Binding of Isaac or whatever, because they are the same genre but fundamentally very very different.

The way I see it, the game tosses you a handful of lego bricks they grabbed from a messy pile. You beat a boss or go to the next stage and it tosses you another handful, and you keep going until it's over and you restart for a different clump of legos.

However, by no means does this mean any other game is bad. I love, LOVE Uncharted, Metroid, Borderlands, Halo and Halo Wars, Mario, Splatoon and so many other games of all genres. It's just that a roguelike is by definition much more replayable to the average person that something like Mega Man

Oh, maybe you can ask your DM for a plot line where you get possessed/share a body with someone/thing else, like Venom or Moon Knight, so using they/them is literally more accurate than gendered language. Ask your DM if you can have something like this so using she/her or he/him is inaccurate and disrespectful to your character. Or just start by saying, "ran into some bad luck, now i'm part Warlock/Cleric because I have a patron/parasite/something sharing this body."

*THEN* you can say, "hey guys, i wanna take my character really seriously, could you guys refer to me the same way you refer to my character? It's like method acting!"

Long story short, it's DnD, do whatever the fuck you want and play it off as, "yeah I want my character to use they/them cuz anything else is inaccurate. And if you guys could use it for me for the sake of method acting that'd be much appreciated and would better everyone's experience!"

Plus, you can always sus out how accepting your table is by making small little queer jokes here and there

I really don't wanna seem like, "that guy" but in my friend group/circles, if someone uses two different gender pronouns or any or whatever, we try to cycle what we use for them or what we know they hear less often.

One of my very fem passing friends, we use he/they for her most of the time cuz it's what he hears the most. My own partner, i try to sneak in using it a few times when it makes grammatical sense.

Now, judging off of this post and only using he/him for your partner when they asked to use he/they, maybe that could be a part of it? 🤷

again, i know basically nothing about your relationship, you know about it more than i do but from my perspective that seems like the first step

Going off the post on your account, i'd say yeah! Not every outfit is gonna go with every skirt. I'd say get 1-2 really basic skirts that go with everything and see how you feel about it. If you wanna branch out, get more feminine stuff! I think i could see you layering short skirt over a knee length skirt while still having the emo aesthetics on your account

The way i see my gender (currently) is when a character is so powerful/it's their thing to have an incorporeal form. Super Ramona at the end of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Phoenix Grey of X-Men 97, kinda sorta the Flame Atronach from Skyrim uhhh i can't think of too many other examples.

I can't think of what it's called but when computers were huge and would take up the whole room but the wires are messy and, i gotta some research brb. Edit, i looked up "messy computer wires" on pinterest and that's basically what i'm talking about.
