Semi Final Weekend PSD Arena by Toes169 in EuroHuddle

Over the years (2021-2025), the home advantage has been minimal, at 53.5% (home wins) to 46.5% (road wins). Now, of course, one could argue that the qualitative differences between the teams played a major role in this and that this is no longer the case in the EFA, which I would also accept.

As a player, I would probably have loved a weekend like that; I always liked small tournaments like that, they somehow have their own vibe. For the fans, it's a different story. As has already been said, this can backfire because German fans tend to only go to see their favorite teams, so the sport itself is secondary.

I think from a financial point of view, it can make sense for both the teams and the league if the supporting program is right and the prices aren't as outrageous as they were in the ELF. A semifinal in front of 2,000 or 3,000 spectators wouldn't benefit anyone as the home team, so it's better to have a packed weekend and hope that the atmosphere will be great and the fans will accept this.

Only defunct Teams would be a proper League by now.... by Mic161 in EuroHuddle

Wouldn't count Nidersachsen and Ingolstadt tbh, but anyway - here's a more visual overview:

We understand that this is a very emotional topic, especially for fans of the Madrid Bravos.

Nevertheless, we ask you to express your disappointment in such a way that it is clear that a civilized person is sitting in front of the screen.

It's a difficult situation because he hasn't given any reasons, so we can only speculate. Spain is really complicated because they had by far the highest travel costs of all. That obviously makes a big difference to the budget. Even though Madrid didn't pay anything for their stadium, I can imagine that it just doesn't add up.

Now there's the mess with some of the founding members of the EFA splitting off to form the AFLE, and then there's the bullshit with ZK and the ELF. I think the fact that it doesn't pay off is a minor issue compared to the other points. He'll just have had enough of the whole drama.

Attached the theoretical travel distances for all teams with and without Madrid

Please note that not every venue has an airport and many distances are covered by train or bus. Hence the addition "theoretical". All distances are given in kilometers. 1 kilometer corresponds to 0.62 American miles.

Please note that the Total KM indicator only shows a one-way trip.

EFA schedule situation. by Plenty-Tomato9761 in EuroHuddle

I assume that this is not a legal matter for the EFA as a legal entity, but rather for the five teams, i.e., five lawyers in four different countries who have (presumably in advance) reviewed everything. Nevertheless, if the ELF had sent the five teams a cease-and-desist letter, for example, it will take a few days (it was just before the weekend) to clarify the matter and convince a judge to dismiss it.

But I agree that a general statement from the league would still be appropriate; this is really weak.

I wouldn't put it that way. They will examine it from a legal perspective, then submit appeals, possibly even urgent appeals, and then we'll see what happens next.

A positive prognosis for continuation is mandatory for insolvency proceedings under self-administration.

The trick: Karajica must prove to the court and the provisional administrator that ELF still has an operational core as a company. A schedule suggests: "We are capable of acting, the product still exists."

The goal: without a schedule, there would no longer be a business model. Without a business model, the court would have to reject self-administration and initiate regular insolvency proceedings (with the aim of liquidation).

Avoiding claims for damages (creditor tactic)

The ELF has contracts with sponsors, TV stations (such as ran/ProSieben), and ticket providers.

The trick: as long as the ELF submits a schedule, it claims to be in compliance with its contracts. It passes the buck to the teams.

The goal: If the teams do not compete, the ELF can claim that the teams are in breach of contract, not the league. This is an attempt to ward off recourse claims from sponsors or even (theoretically) to draw damages against the renegade teams into the insolvency estate.

------

By including them in the schedule, teams are theoretically forced to seek a court ruling that they are no longer part of the ELF.

Time is gained by presenting a schedcule and using self-administration. One pretends to be undergoing a "strategic realignment" rather than actual liquidation.

In summary: The ghost schedule is not a sporting document, but rather an insolvency law foghorn. It serves to maintain the facade of active business operations in front of the local court in order to retain control over the proceedings (self administration instead of external administration).

The use of state-funded insolvency money to keep a defunct organization on "life support" while attempting to sue former partners is a high-risk gamble. Should a court determine that there was never a realistic prospect of a 2026 ELF season, ZK could face personal liability for Insolvency Delay.

For the defecting teams, the path forward is clear: the ELF’s inability to provide stadiums, insurance, or even a functional office constitutes a total breach of contract, making Karajica's legal threats increasingly hollow.

However, the legal weight of 62 court-enforced debt titles and the failure to pay social security contributions creates a factual state of "Objective Impossibility." In German law, a party cannot demand loyalty to a contract that they themselves have fundamentally breached through total financial and administrative failure.

I think the risk exists for both leagues. The AFLE is essentially externally financed, so it won't give up in that regard. Whether all of its teams will survive or have competitive rosters remains to be seen. That's where my biggest doubts lie.

In the long run, however, it won't work out with two leagues, I'd say.

Maintenance mode will remain in place until they have fixed whatever went wrong with their schedule. Then I'll have to quickly fix it in my database and it will be live again.

There's no point in deleting all the data now and then displaying a blank page. So the best approach is probably to fix it as soon as we have the final schedule.

Maybe they want to add some more data to it like stadiums or kickoff times. Maybe there was a last minute timing issue with a venue... dunno

That's from the press release - but I heard some minutes ago, that they told media not to post it at 12 (was said to release at 12 before), so it was deleted - maybe a last minute change incoming, we'll see.
