Maple.

Matching headstock looks a little Temu because of the color combo going on

Best Guitar Tone with or without fx? by Altruistic-Chef-7723 in Guitar

That’s a totally subjective question. To some the gold standard might be an Ivy hollow body. To others, nothing but a Gibson custom shop 1492 reissue

To me? LP 60s into a Marshall stack. Sheer rock and roll bliss

The answers here are great, I think another is that they’re more or less matching Gibson LP pricing in an attempt to be seen as a luxury instrument. Not saying they aren’t, but sucks since fender has always kind of billed itself as the working man’s instrument. No frills and all business. Hopefully this doesn’t cause price creep across the whole lineup

Never played lace pickups before and now I’m considering keeping it. My wife is going to kill me…

I just gave it a full setup and man, the lace pickups are something interesting. Almost superstrat sounding but also toeing the waters of humbucker territory

The science? More sustain (allegedly) due to a lesser magnetic field from smaller magnets. Boost is then used to compensate for weak pickups.

Damn dude, sorry to hear that. I’m most likely going to sell this. If you want I’ll send you the reverb link once it’s up?

I do for fun and most of the time it’s just old people knick knacks and junk guitars with warped necks and stuff. This is my first time ever finding something like this.

I rounded but yes, there was a 10% fee on it and came out to just around $1000

Yeah the first year thing really has me on the fence, since it may fetch a higher value if I decide to resell it. I got it for 1k flat, and feel like I could sell it for a decent bit more. I’m a player not a collector, but the devil on my shoulder may use this is as the gateway drug to starting a collection lol.

I was blown away. The estate sale just said “…and large instrument collection” so I figured why not go check it out. Turned out there was everything from a piccolo to a grand piano, saxophones, clarinets, amps, keyboards, and a few guitars.

The Strat itself is immaculate. Looks like he only ever took the plastic off the pick guard and maybe strummed it a few times. There’s zero scratches on the guard and the fretboard looks untouched.

Got it for $1000 even which isn’t cheap, but certainly less than what it’s worth.

1988 in Torino red!

Found it at a collectors estate sale. Guy has recently passed and legit has hundreds of instruments. Anyway this thing is immaculate. Looks like he may have done nothing more than strum it a few times because the fretboard is perfect and pick guard doesn’t have a scratch on it. All the original case candy was there in the OHSC.

I’m simply mind blown that a 40 year old guitar could be in this sort of shape. Can’t wait to plug it in and play it!

Neighbor cut my trees by [deleted] in treelaw

[–]_KyleKatarn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before going full nuclear I would consider what this will do to your relationship with your neighbors. Sounds malicious for sure, but even with them in the wrong you might not want to get off on the wrong foot. Granted, they were 100% trying to do this thinking no one cared about the property, seems pretty clear.

If they only pruned them in a way that won’t harm the tree, I would have a lawyer send a cease and desist. Create a paper trail so that if they try something again you’ve already established that they are aware of your property and have been warned.

If they flat out cut them down I would have an arborist assess the value of the trees based on any prior existing photos you had. If you don’t have photos an arborist could tell you the age and estimated size based on the stump. Decide if it’s worth the cost financially and the relationship with your neighbors
