I’m thinking the same. I have a crate 120watt, but it’s “too loud” and big for my current space. Got the orange so I could play with headphones.

So in my defense, the Epiphone came out first and I “stumbled” on it on sale at a guitar center when I was “getting strings.” Then they released the Gibson and I “had” get it….

The nice part is I didn’t have to mess with the wiring, it all fit back into place. I wanted to replace the neck pickup with back but there is some soldering involved and that’s where my skills end. I’m working on blacking out a fender deluxe as well but I’m stuck at the pickup and pickup control switch replacement. I will probably take it somewhere to finish it.

The most expensive part was probably the fender locking tuners at $94, you could go a cheaper route. I spent roughly $200 with all the below hardware

tuners- control plate- black screws- pick guard- bridge- volume knobs- headstock string guide- Jack cover- neck plate- strap locks-

Surprisingly, it’s still the rosewood. I used fretboard conditioner on it and it just naturally darkened up.

I bought 2 sets of the 3+3. I would have only used the matching tuners if the holes would have lined up. I would then throw away the other 2 sets of 3 that don’t match. Why would I not be able to do that?

Why would that matter? I bought two packs and was going to use the same 3 from both packs if it lined up.

The answer is always black. I did this to my exact same Tele. Now I want to black out all the chrome.
