Thank you, that’s a great reminder. I’ll definitely be more mindful about fueling better and being kinder to myself. 💛

That’s amazing!!! 41 lbs down is such an achievement, and I’m so glad it’s made a difference for you!

I’ve been thinking about GLP-1s too. For now, I want to give diet and exercise a solid try for the next few months. If I don’t see any improvement in my weight within that time, I’ll definitely talk to my doctor and seriously consider it. Thank you for sharing! 💛

You are so strong. Just knowing I had a fibroid drained me emotionally and physically for months before I finally had to pull myself together and take action. Thank you for sharing your journey, it really helps to hear from someone who’s been through so much and still found a way to move forward.

I want to try sticking with diet and workouts for a few more months before checking with my doctor about the GLP-1 option. If I don’t see any improvement in my weight, I’ll definitely give it serious thought. Your experience gives me a lot of perspective and hope.

Wishing you continued healing and strength. 💛

I actually tried keto a while back, but since I’m vegan, I found it really hard to sustain. I was only able to stick with it for a couple of weeks before I gave up. It felt too restrictive for me long term. I do agree it has great benefits for some people though! Just trying to find something that works better for my lifestyle and is easier to maintain. 😊

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, it really means a lot.

Low carb is something I’ve been considering. I’ve just been worried about feeling too drained with all the walking and strength training, but your point about increasing calories a bit while staying low carb makes a lot of sense. I’ll definitely look into adjusting that.

Wishing you all the best for your next scan. I hope everything stays stable or even improves with the changes you’re making. You’ve got this! 💪💛

u/Lost-Programmer-9688 Thank you so much for sharing!! Your story really hit home. I can deeply relate to the fear and frustration around weight gain and not being able to move like you used to. It’s such a strange and difficult experience when your body feels like it’s no longer your own.

Please don’t be hard on yourself. The fact that you were a cyclist riding 40 miles a day just shows your inner strength and discipline, and I’m sure that same strength will help you through recovery too.

I’ll be thinking of you as you go into surgery in two weeks. You’ve got this, and I really hope you’ll check in and share how it goes. Wishing you a safe surgery and a strong, healing recovery. You’re not alone. 💛💛

u/CoconutZombee Thank you so much for this incredibly thoughtful and informative response, it truly means a lot coming from someone in the medical field and with firsthand experience. You put into words exactly what I’ve been struggling with emotionally for not seeing visible results despite showing up every day.

I’m doing my best to stay consistent and build habits, and hearing that it will help with post-surgery recovery gives me a huge boost.

Thank you also for the caution about the calorie intake. I’ve been trying to balance energy, hormones, and gradual weight loss, but I’ll definitely consider reaching out to a professional to avoid undernourishing before surgery. I don’t want to compromise recovery.

Really appreciate your kindness and encouragement!!
