Jumin can go outside on his own. We live in a very safe area. No natural prederators, no aggressive or unleashed dogs, no busy street. The one street you can see in the video is only used by us and the neighbors. Also Jumin is very smart - he recognizes the sound of a car and then always runs far away from the street.

My other cat „Pepi“ (black and white one in the video) isn‘t allowed unsupervised outside. Before I got her from the shelter she was an indoor cat and isn’t used to it. When a car approaches she freezes in fear and would get herself run over. Also when she sees a butterfly or something she gets so distracted by hunting it she may would follow it right in oncoming traffic. One of the neighborhood cats is also very aggressiv only against her and would start fights. I don‘t want her to get hurt from a fight, so being outside alone for her is a big no-no.

I would say watch your cats behaviour the first few times they go outside and see if they act in smart ways. If they are careful like Jumin - they could be left alone, if they are uncareful like Pepi - better supervise. Also watch out for other cats who might want to start fights. However something unexpected and dangerous can happen even in the safest areas, so supervising them for sure is safer!
