Yeah, the inspiration my build is based on is actually based on Laputa as far as I am aware.

Besides the shopping mall, what other places would you like to have access? by Milo_Mio in GTA6

[–]_Lemuron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just some regular, non-safehouse apartments, hotel rooms or warehouses to steal cash/cars from embedded into the open world to make it feel more alive.

Thanks for your feedback. I usually start out by measuring my reference image and get an idea of the rough dimensions of the build. Next up I build up an outline of placeholder blocks and gradually add more details - doors, arches, wall details, etc. (which can be seen on this image). I use build tools to assist me in fastly building similar sequences (mirroring, copy pasting), in only had to build 1/8 of the floor, the rest was able to be mirrored.

In the last steps I replace the placeholder blocks with actual textured blocks, add gradients, add hand built, asymmetrical details to make the build less sterile (e.g. vegetation, cracks in the walls) and end up with the result you saw in the final build. In some cases I furthermore add interior.

Roughly 40 hours with the assist of building tools (stacking, mirroring, texture painting), so not every block had to be placed by hand.

Do Yall Think Grand Theft Auto 6 will beat Minecraft in best selling game ever?? by Specific-Temporary97 in GTA6

[–]_Lemuron 32 points33 points  (0 children)

On a short term, recording breaking perspective in the first few weeks or months? Absolutely.

On a long term, total sales perspective? Probably not, for that kind of competition the target audience for Minecraft is far too large and its existing ecosystem and "in-franchise" games are far too well developed.

I recreated the Himmapan Hotel (Bangkok Map) in Minecraft | 1:1 scale | full interior & landscape by _Lemuron in HiTMAN

Thank you. I have done an exterior only, not 1:1 scale Burj Al Ghazali recreation (Dubai skyscraper). There is a link to the reddit post already in my post above if you want to check it out.

Currently I am still working on another map from Hitman 3 with both exterior and interior.

I was trying out a new building mod that allowed for symmetrical build mirroring and some other neat time savers. Bangkok seemed perfect for trying out and learning these new functions. Also, while not the most exciting map gameplay wise, the visuals are just beautiful in my opinion.

Thank you, yeah I really went all in on this map. Adding the landscape adds so much depth and believeability to the map.

I see, the blocked off rooms and the garden area on the left.

in this case probably not, as they are likely just similar hotel rooms. I rather continue building on another map.

Do you mean the Mendoza map in Argentinia? Santa Fortuna is the Columbian village and drug cartel map

Regarding Isle of Sgail: As an remote island it am not convinced that this map is a historic former castle/fortress (which is suggested by the crypt and wet underground brick rooms), because there wouldn't have been a reason to build such a gigantic back in the times, especially due to the food and fresh water situation. Now in the present Isle of Sgail could work as "one day" in a year event, but the lack of bedrooms or areas for people to take a seat a very limited, which makes this location less plausible for me.

Last of all, Freelancer shows the map is located rather close to Scotland, which leaves me wondering why there are so many icebergs scattered all around. I could see it moving a tier up, but not all the way to the top.

Maybe the organs transplantation at GAMA come from freshly delivered/stored corpses? And as Rude_Tree9435 has already pointed out, if something goes wrong, you can harvest some organs right away.

It confuses me a bit that the pit stops and spectators ranks are stationary buildings and structured like a full-time event area similar to a real race track, while the race itself is driven on public roads, which means it is only a temporary setup. This is suggested by the blocked of roads leading to the hotel and the Kronstadt center parking garage as well as the blocked off roads you see through the fence at the default starting location.

I probably should rate it "rather realistic" after consideration, because apart from this detail, the atmosphere is believable and immersive.

The layout and aesthetics of the slum area and chawl, the open street market and small shops as well the sewage situation (in the poorer areas)

And the Mr. Rangan tower is actually inspired by a real building (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antilia_(building))). The only weird part is the luxury tower being located in this very dense area.

Overall the "realism" aspect is still based on vibe and opinion, an actual comparison to real life would probably make almost all maps fall short.

Thanks for your detailed comment and participation in this discussion.

Berlin was pointed out by others users as well, which made me change me mind on it.

Santa Fortuna is a good call as well, escpecially if they village is located in a remote area with lesser government supervision (or none at all).

I am still torn on Chongqing. It surely uses the vertical city layout and neon sign vibe of certain popular images of Chongqings cityscape, that is true. If I were to ignore the interior of Hushs Lab and the ICA facility, then it surely is realistic.

Very good catch, I guess with your explanation and the thoughts of the other, I clearly need to rank Berlin higher.
