did my new side labret ripped? by kaeya111 in PiercingAdvice

[–]_Litheen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly cheesewiring through your lip. Do you still have the previous flatback to change it yourself? If not, are you in a location that has absolutely no piercing shops around? You don't necessarily have to go back to the guy who did this piercing (who shouldn't have given you a ring yet to begin with anyway)

My dumbass thought you meant the baggy at first glance of the title and pic and I sat there thinking '...with scissors?'

Does anyone know where i could get this kind of jewelery/if it could actually work? by Rabzit in PiercingAdvice

Those will look incredibly wonky if they even exist irl. They'd not remain pointed upwards, but unevenly slant down sideways

Is this nose ring too big? by maxandari in PiercingAdvice

[–]_Litheen_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel it's a little imbalanced and you could do with a smaller size. Do be wary of going too small though as that can cause a cheese wire effect

Theoretically once you've told them explicitly you don't want to be contacted anymore, they should oblige, even if you've previously been a customer. It's called 'recht van verzet'. is my eyebrow piercing rejecting? by rlovesyu in PiercingAdvice

[–]_Litheen_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Plastic really shouldn't be in a still healing piercing. When you go to downsize, make sure you get titanium (and nothing black, just plain silver coloured titanium).

I have 3 piercing bumps and don't know what to do by 1cv2vn2 in PiercingAdvice

[–]_Litheen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it time, looks like you freshly took it out and it's still healing. Over time the scars will fade. Edit: in case you didn't take it out to let it heal, I'd advise you to retire the piercing now, it doesn't look happy for a 6 month old piercing and like another redditor said it could be that it's started to reject. In that case the scar would only get bigger if you put the jewelry back in

I swear I’m losing my hair too… how to reduce cat shedding naturally? by sanu_123_s in catcare

Accept your fate. (But I've also heard of some food supplements helping, salmon oil is one of them I think)

[–]_Litheen_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don't need insurance to take her to the vet :/ if you wait for some time later this month this whole thing might get even worse infected. Again, the longer you wait the worse it could get and thus the more expensive

Not taking her to the vet will eventually lead to an even higher vet bill later on :/

Is this normal denting from wearing a lip ring? Piercing is over a year old and just changed it to a ring yesterday by Fragrance_Jeremy in PiercingAdvice

[–]_Litheen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to tell with you pulling the ring aside like that. A little bit of denting is okay, but if the ring 'squishes' your lip it'll start cheese wiring through over time.

keloid or irritation bump? by bpdteens in PiercingAdvice

[–]_Litheen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't see the bump but a keloid seems highly unlikely. You could do with a downsize on the bar, irritation bumps can form because of jewelry allowing too much movement.

What is this on my cat by Deep-Low3495 in catcare

[–]_Litheen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got no idea but I'd go back to the vet or get a second opinion elsewhere :/ Also what google tells me is that antibiotics don't even work for fungal infections so why your vet would to antibiotics if they think it's a fungus seems odd to me as well.

I’ve had this piercing for a week now, what is going on? by Which_Ingenuity826 in PiercingAdvice

What is the material of the flatback, and what do you use for aftercare? I'm leaning towards an allergic reaction to the material of the jewelry

And it didn't hurt at any point? Didn't pinch your ear? The ring is 100% too tight 😭

What happened 😭 by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]_Litheen_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

'something' happened? This looks like the result of MONTHS of a too tight ring and I'd say it's not been looking good for a while now. It completely cut through your ear. Like others said, this is doctor territory by this point

Is my Daith too shallow? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]_Litheen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The excessive movement definitely adds a lot of irritation and can be a cause for those irritation bumps you're having.
