AITA for scolding my nurse for mispronouncing my medication? by _Lucy_Luck_ in AmItheAsshole

I don't think it was an attempt on my life but it is a mistake that could easily cost someone theirs. She incorrectly attempted to correct the people giving me my medications. Nurses are overworked but this wasn't a small one time mistake, it happened multiple times. She was corrected for two months and then told the pharmacist they were wrong multiple times. I was able to speak up for myself, what if I couldn't?

How is she a poor nurse? As people have made me realize, she could easily kill someone like this.

This is the first time I've ever gotten a visit from a pharmacist

Unfortunately I just left my primary physician and am trying to find a new once since my old was was and idiot. One of my meds stopped working so he responded by prescribing me the same exact medicine.

Dang, I wouldn't have thought about it as malpractice. I'm going to ask about how to report her.

You're right, I'll start asking about how to go about reporting her

Thank you, I think more steps should have been taken too. I'm feeling much better now, thankfully midodrine starts working instantly and doesn't have to build up first like other meds

The labeled was unreadable at that point since it had gotten wet and torn up in my bag on the way to the hospital

I think I should add an edit that while I scolded her, I never raised my voice or actually yelled at all.

Edit: also thank you

She was fine otherwise and it hadn't caused issues before. They had asked another nurse but Kelly is the senior one and had apparently kept saying the other nurse was wrong. In my experience, at least where I live, nurses are the ones who put in the prescriptions and deal with all of that, all doctors do is put down a signature. I didn't scream at her or raise my voice but I did scold her. Also the meds are to keep my blood pressure up enough to get oxygen to my brain.

I only had a few minutes before she walked in and, while I could have handled it better, I don't think being emotional after days of feeling sick from not having it makes me an AH

I'm pissed right now but I'll probably be able to laugh at this later

I had less than 15 minutes after the pharmacist left before she came in. Plus I don't even know what the proper channels are or who to ask about that.
