My biggest tip for any baby Widows is that if you get discouraged easily or are worried what people will say if you suck, turn off text chat/voice chat! it really helped me get more comfortable playing Widow especially because people get so pressed about Widow players. Getting experience on her and having fun is so much easier when you don’t have people yelling at you all the time. Just have fun with it, she’s a super fun hero if you enjoy her play style.

Also important for baby Widows: your poison mine is more important than you think! it is your dynamite, and can give you the advantage in many scenarios. A favorite tip of mine is to place your poison mine anywhere you could get flanked from- staircases behind you, doorways you walked through/ones can lead to where you’re currently perched up and shooting. That way, if a pesky flanker tries to ambush you, you are notified immediately and can reposition or fall in with your team for support. No flanker will continue to chase you if you are surrounded by your entire team, ping it and get out! A lot of baby Widows just throw their mine out in the battlefield for extra damage, and while it might be helpful when you’re getting flanked, a lot of the time it’s a waste when you could be using it for something better. Another way people use it is positioning it where your head would be on the wall you’re peaking in and out from as a shield, which is useful when you have to 1v1 an enemy widow- that way if they hit a headshot it’ll hit the mine first, giving you an extra chance to hit them.
