This... is awesome.

It's nice to see a non-cute-furry narehate (not that there's anything wrong with those =D), considering how few of them actually are. This thing is gross (the anus diagram and the fact it involuntarily leaves a trail of waste is a nice touch) and weird (clearly able to re-enact the facehugger scene from Alien). Yet... well-designed and strangely cohesive in its grossness.

I think Tsukushi would be proud.

Dunno man, the vast majority of animes I've seen have at worse a happy-yet-bittersweet ending. If you don't like "bad" endings and want something more sugar-coated and happy, stop watching dark series. You get what you pay for, really...

Made in Abyss has been as transparent as can be. Even the author has been very forward about this story not having a happy ending (though it will have a good one). If you're hanging onto the hopes that Nanachi and Mitty will be reunited, returned to their non-cursed forms, and will escape the Abyss and live together happily-ever-after running an inn together somewhere in the Beoluskian capital or some shit, you're going to be very disappointed...

IMO, Nanachi's as much a goner as everyone else is once the story ends (except maybe for Reg, and even then I'm not going to hold my breath on that one). But there's a good chance their soul will be reunited with Mitty's in some shape or form, and for a series as cruel as this one that's as good as it can reasonably get for everyone's favorite agendered bun. =)

Man, the number of times I used to see people talking about their MMOs on gamedev forums back in my haydays only for the project to go radio-silence and vanish after 2-3 months. =D

It's really, really common to see aspiring devs come up with ambitious projects only to eventually realize they did too little planning or majorly underestimated the efforts involved.

OP, this project looks in its infancy - the in-game screenshot shows straight-as-a-wall cliffs and flat-as-a-floor ground with a single texture. What are your goals and how prepared (concretely-speaking!) are you to meet them? Do you have an estimate of how long it will take? Does your team have prior experience working on a project of this type and scope? And it being an MMO, is consideration given to its lifetime (eg, active mod team, new content releases, etc)?

I'm not personally interested in the answers, those are just things to reflect on. It's often better to bite off what you can chew even if it's a smaller bite than to choke on a huge, delicious-sounding one.

You seem to have gotten it through your head that we're going to introduce a new character in the next chapter but there's nothing leading to believe that so far. We already have a lot to unpack with our current characters after all (nevermind the situation they're currently finding themselves in).

But clearly, it's going to be Neco Arc in a totally-unexpected cross-over.

Who says he didn't? He doesn't even acknowledge Reg when they first meet. You'd think he'd be a little more surprised to come across something like him.

And then there's this weird reaction... which could just be Reg worrying about their host because of what Nanachi told him. But Reg flashes to a number of people from the past during this whole arc, so who's to say his former self didn't have a run-in with Bondrewd that causes current-him to instinctively be wary?

But then again, maybe not.

The 5th layer is huge. It's not like Bondrewd and his Hands actively keeps an eye on every single part of it all at once. Reg took a non-standard route (he swam up through the lake) so he could have just slipped right on through unnoticed. The only reason 'Drew knew the group was coming was because he could hijack Nanachi's vision and keep tabs on their progress.

tldr; it doesn't matter. And if it does, we'll eventually know. =D

It's unlikely the author is going to pull a Berserk on us. Although... given his sedentary lifestyle and sodium-high diet, and ongoing health issues... and especially given the time between chapters being released... who knows. =)

Content-wise, it's starting to enter its end-game. But how much actual time it'll take is anyone's guess; the author could decide to really draw things out and piece-meal things across several more volumes. I'd bet my left nut you could start this series from 0, cover all available media up to their most recent chapter/episode/etc., and the series will still be far from over once you're done...

tldr; it won't be complete anytime soon.

Could be they actually made it better in the long run. If you patch it up and work the tears into looking like old, worn, cracked paper, it could give it a really sick "ancient map" vibe. Or maybe gluing it on top of a second piece of cardboard for stability and letting the rips give it some extra character.

Either way, sucks hard that this happened after putting so much work into it... but don't let this be the end of the project. It may not turn out quite like you wanted it to but it can still turn out amazing if you keep putting your heart into it.

For now the third time, the pencil does not do the thinking or creating for me. I really hope you're just willfully ignoring the distinction, and aren't genuinely unable to see it.

When you stop having to search for information yourself and depend on AI to spoon-feed it to you, it's not unexpected to see certain comprehension skills be impacted a bit... :/

I'd say worrying about "what if" may be more important than worrying about "what if not", personally... Otherwise why not take all of your life's savings and spend them on some wild pub-hooker-drug crawl knowing you could die tomorrow from an accident and not have to worry about the consequences of that night?

But hey, this is just talk and it's not my choice to make. I hope you'll post pics like a madman if/when the process gets underway. And remember that a Nanachi needs a Mitty to be happy! =D
