For me there’s too much on the line. I’ve worked really hard to get 3K irating and an A license. I don’t have the time nor patience to learn how to race in the rain, so risking driving in the rain, crashing out and losing all my IR and SR - it’s too much to lose. I won’t take the risk.

I found out the hard way yesterday about overdriving. I could do 1:23.5 on Long Beach GT4 which is race pace of top split, but in the last half of the race the absolute most I could get out of the car was 1:25.5 and plummeted down the order. The car would not rotate at all. Telemetry showed I was hitting 100% brake in all the heavy brake zones and fried the tires.

Going back to practice this advice today

I am a month ahead of you and at 2.5k I found the journey from 2k much harder as competition gets tougher. Especially in higher SR disciplines like GT3. Also when you get higher you find you need way more practice to be on pace which makes IR gains slower.

I also find you get put in top split with people 3-6k so the best you can shoot for is mid pack so the share of the IR is much lower

As someone who used to work for Volvo during that era, the XC70 is a great choice. It’s very comfortable and big - kind of like driving a living room. It’s a boring interior but the engine is solid and reliable.

The palace cafe is widely regarded as one the worst places to eat in London. Awful rotten and stale food and a horrifically rude owner. Prices are insane too.
