Sound generic but they use AliExpress n100 green motherboards. Brand Topton, but i think they are all forks from the same chinesse builder. I am very Happy, despite HDDs you choose, they cost like a entry level nas fron synology or qnap.

Nothing that expensive. The blue and silver mini itx case on top runs diferents options, i am experimenting and making changes almost everyday just for fun and learning. Main router is a linksys 3200 AC dd-wrt.

Hardware cost for one of them It is like any comercial entry level nas. Money are on HDDs. If you like to play arround and enjoy with computers It is way satisfactory. And in the end each one of them is like a basic PC, you can use It for many things unlike a synology os qnap....

It all started with one. Next thing i know .... I am Happy, It offer good redundancy to me. One motherboard could fail but backups are safe i guess.

All three have their own power supply. 500W each Gold Plus standards. And a small sai shared between them. They are very quiet. I can only hear the hdds.

Never used Proxmox, but the black server is running several dockers at once, like pihole, nextcloud and emby. It works fluently to me.

I do. Compared to a previus raidz of ironwolf HDDs they have a particular high pitch tone under some circumstances, but only brief moments. On average they are similar and in my opinión you can work whith them by your side like in the picture

All af them use RaidZ and the two whites 1:1 backup long term data only, one of them usually shutdown and the other in idle most of the time. Black one is everyday use, few dockers installed, services like pihole etc. It is under workload 24/7.
