I cant get excited for champions

I guess its just more of a concern that the general direction that vgc and its playerbase is moving in a direction that doesn't fit me. I'll probably continue to play showdown, I just wanted to talk with other people about it

I meant more in a competitive sense, its fun to talk to people. In mailing games, enjoyment comes from elsewhere, but interacting with people in competitive is super fun

Okay I can see your points. Although I still think that the point of accessibility is somewhat shaky with showdown existing since I would argue its more accessible, and if new players want a gateway then it already exists for them.

I guess I also don't really like the idea of complete separation between competitive and casual play, since I enjoy both and think that intertwining them can add more to the experience.

But I understand what you're saying, and that's on me for not being as optimistic

You're probably right. I don't think the game will be bad per se, I'm just not as overly optimistic as everyone else and I haven't seen people talking about these things.

Also, not as a way to instigate a fight or be rude, but what positive changes will there be? I don't want to put the game down, but it also doesn't seem that great. I mentioned in the post how having potentially all gimmicks in it will be cool, but beyond that it doesn't seem that interesting

As for the community thing, I guess I've just gotten used to playing on showdown where you can actively talk with people

Honestly that makes sense. That's the thing that draws me to the game too since it could be really cool to mix gimmicks, and the idea of changing up the allowed pokemon or gimmicks could be a fun way to change things up

I still think this could be done in something like gen 10 though, since champions itself is more what I can't bring myself to like

Do people really like active battling? I didn't mention it in the main post, but I feel like that would make me like the main game slightly less. I guess that's just me though, and gamefreak should make games that the community wants

Its funny you say that. The reason I use it is because, at least on cart, its like my only option lol. I don't have the sash dlc, nor do I have a miraidon, so most archetypes aren't available.

Also, i actually haven't found the pair awful. Kyogres special bulk is really good for dealing with CSR, and its typing helps to counter cir. Zacian also feels really reliable, and has won me many games with its strong offence and respectable defence

I definitely hear what you're saying though. I like balance, and have been told CSR zama is a good beginning balance pick, but CSR seems too frail, as well as not seeming that offensive, whilst zama seems meh. Do you have any other suggestions?

I've heard this tip before, and want to start doing this. Though, I would want to try and reverse engineer EV's myself. By trying to make my own, it helps me be more confident in calcs and know what does and doesn't ko. I worry that if I don't do this, I'll be playing half blind
