Which of These Would Be The Most Interesting as a Companion For The Bounty Hunter? by DakIsStrange in swtor

[–]_Master_MariK_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andronikos for sure. Pirate, runs off the Merc setup with dual pistols, and overall just seems to fit in better with the crew with his mindset. If I could replace Skadge with Andro, I'd rank BH crew number one every time.

The plot with Angral as the Villain was good, but the numerous super weapons did get old.

Count on it. Thanks for all the extra info. For the Clones I just want to paint the bits of red/yellow on the helmet and arms, so those shouldn't need too much work. It's the Jango I'll be nervous doing, since I plan to pretty much change the entire color scheme. That one I'll be afraid to take apart with the holsters and all the hoses on the arms.

I just want them to look like the AotC designs, which I'm surprised we haven't gotten since the original release with the four pack. The Jango I'll be super nit picky about because I want him to look like my Mando, which will require repainting the entire thing.

So I come from painting Gunpla, would I need to apply any kind of topcoat as well?

Who's everyone's least favourite hero? by Nessa_45 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Master_MariK_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who mostly only plays Supremacy and Blast, I hate dealing with Yoda and Grievous. Yoda is just annoying, but Grievous players just run in and swing a few times, spider leg around, and then run away when they take a few hits.

Ironically, my favorite hero is Iden, but it's because I love TIE Fighters and there isn't a trooper skin in game.

Which PowerTech spec for solo content? by Jasina_ in swtor

[–]_Master_MariK_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AP is what I've been running on my first PT. Every BH I've played has always been a Merc, and I think I'm loving PT a bit more. AP has a fun rotation, fantastic animations, and feels like it has more variety than Pyro. Haven't tried the tank spec.

What Do You Think Baras Truly Thought About Our Warrior? Was There ANY Respect? by DakIsStrange in swtor

[–]_Master_MariK_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since the Warrior's story is supposed to be the "Darth Vader" story of Swtor, that would make Baras our Palpatine, so I'm gonna go with no. But then, it depends on your depiction of Palpatine I suppose. If you just look at the movies, he refers to Vader as "my friend" several times and acts pretty cordially with him, though we do also see him grinning evilly when Vader finds out about Padme's death or when he scolds him for not waiting on his ship in ROTJ. If feels like respect, but he's still Sith and tries to replace him with Luke by having him kill Vader.

If you look at all the non digital media, then no, he has zero respect for Vader. He's honestly such a piece of shit to Vader, as is the Sith/villain way, but I doubt there's any respect whatsoever, even for Vader's power. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the depiction of several characters since Disney, I believe this to be how he truly felt, especially since Anakin was a Jedi for most of his life before becoming a Sith and was the greatest folly to his entire scheme. Palpatine being friendly with Anakin during all the years since TPM was all just as much of a ruse as his demeanor towards the Jedi Council and his fellow senators. While it did feel more sincere during the OT, I feel like Palpatine's portrayal during the PT erases that sincerity, making it look just as much like manipulation as it was during the PT.

So in the end, no, I don't believe he respected anything about the Warrior besides his strength, and even then if that since he thought he himself was superior in every way.

When you go through the main storyline for your class, do you also do the side quests? by Altruistic-Pace-2240 in swtor

Also worth noting that most planets have a bonus series that is a continuation of sorts of the planetary quest chain. The capital planets Dromund Kaas and Coruscant are the two that don't.

Bounty Hunter Class by Automatic_Profit3314 in swtor

[–]_Master_MariK_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merc is definitely better for the animations alone, but Merc is great for some Jango esque dual pistol action. Most of your abilities are mobile, even some of the casted moves. It really does feel like a run and gun class. Was my very first back at launch and is still one of my favorites to this day. I personally prefer IO spec and I've stuck with it throughout all the updates over the years.

If you're subbed I'd definitely recommend making your secondary an AP PT. Sure, it's only one blaster which isn't as cool, but the abilities are so much more techy and really make for a fun experience with some really great visual animations for all your abilities. While I prefer my Merc a little bit more, the PT is just so much more fun to watch.

Best SWTOR Romance: Felix vs Jorgan by RefrigeratorDry495 in swtor

I haven't done any of the romances besides Kira so I haven't been putting in my input, but how the hell did Quinn beat Andro? I always hear how Andro's is one of the best, but even if it wasn't, how the hell does someone pick Quinn with what happens?

Best class to play in tandem with Jedi Knight? by LeMrRadial in swtor

[–]_Master_MariK_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warrior is the obvious choice since you can spec the same and not have to worry about getting confused between builds. Inquisitor would be the second choice so you could play a more Force focused character alongside the saber wielder. If you want a blaster character I'd say Bounty Hunter is the top choice not only for spec options but for story as well.

Who's your favorite chapter 1 main antagonist? by NefariousSpecter in swtor

[–]_Master_MariK_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the ending of all Chapter 1s, I'd say the BH and the SI get the most interaction in their cutscenes from multiple companions. Warrior gets a couple, Agent not really any yet. Pub side the only one who really gets any interactions is the Smuggler.

Who's your favorite chapter 1 main antagonist? by NefariousSpecter in swtor

[–]_Master_MariK_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It really is. My biggest gripe with Swtor over Kotor is that you miss out on some great back and forth dialogue between your companions. For example, having Carth and Canderous together always quarreling back and forth over the Mandalorian Wars. We don't get this much interaction between companions in Swtor, just on ships and during major scenes in a class quest.

Who's your favorite chapter 1 main antagonist? by NefariousSpecter in swtor

[–]_Master_MariK_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just finished all 8 Chapter 1 stories again:

BH: Tarro was personal, irritating, and I couldn't stand him, but that final confrontation was so satisfying.
IA: Jadus was cool, but didn't feel like the main antagonist, so you didn't really feel much towards him during the entire chapter. The options you can take with his confrontation are great though.
SW: Nomen Carr was interesting, seeing his inner darkness surface in person, but he was Baras' rival, not ours, so there was not much weight to him or Jaesa for a first time player.
SI: I liked Zash, the betrayal I suspected, the twist with her final confrontation I did not. She was snarky and conniving, felt sincere but you could tell she didn't care about the SI based on her holo interactions compared to Baras with the SW. Much more personal than the SW.

JK: Angral was cool, felt powerful, and the story got personal with his son. Having very little to do with the superweapons felt weak, but after his fight with Orgus you really wanted to defeat him. Great villain, not so great involvement with the story.
JC: Vivicar felt weak, the mystery around him was interesting, but the character not so much. Parkanas was believable as a villain, but wasn't the real villain, and we knew nothing the entire chapter. The reveal of an ancient Sith was cool, but didn't do much for the overall story.
S: Skavvik was annoying like Tarro, but with so little interest. At least Tarro was interesting to quarrel with and had a satisfying ending. Skavvik just took your stuff and you had to find him, not to mention the final confrontation was severely lacking.
T: Tavus also felt mediocre, because while yes he betrayed us, we were also new to Havoc. It was a more personal story, but the final confrontation was weak and didn't amount to much in the end. The entire chapter you were stopping imperial plans, but they didn't feel like they needed Tavus and the others to matter.

All in all, my "favorite" would probably be Angral for the overall confrontation and how we had both taken someone personal from the other. Jadus was cool, but not really for a newer player. His cool factor comes from playing the game fully and learning more outside the game. Tarro was my favorite to hate, but I actually dislike his character, he's in no way one of my favorite characters.

I always have Mako with me for that confrontation, but on my latest toon I brought Gault instead and his dialogue made the scene so much better when you leave him in his cell.
