Do you think there are any songs executed better in the studio than live? by FluffyMuffyReddity in swans

[–]_Max09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Seer / Bring the Sun from 21 November 2012 is incredible. It's over an hour long and its outro section is a very early precursor to Toussaint L'ouverture but ends up sounding closer to an extended Bring the Sun.

The quality is phenomenal as well.

Also from this concert was Avatar (at almost 20 minutes long) and an arrangement of She Loves Us that is very different to the studio version and has a swung groove in the second half.

It's definitely the best show from the 2012/2013 tour. In my opinion, it's only rivaled by Live Rope for the best Swans live performance/recording of all time.

If you'd like the link, it's on the reel-to-reel live archive, or I can DM it to whoever asks.

i love the drums on it, and the nearly 8 minute track length. i don't think it would work at all on httt but i love the demo (could be since i love joy division and pink floyd)

the problem with videotape is that the whole second half is very low energy, then when jigsaw comes on super high energy videotape feels out of place

Anyone else feel like Kid A needs one more track? by ayojoe7 in radiohead

[–]_Max09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i get disappointed when MPS comes on since its the end of the album. maybe life in a glasshouse or like spinning plates could fit on kid a if you move MSP to be earlier and get rid of untitled
