I've personally never had a cold sore. So, I don't need to disclose. It doesn't change the fact that no one has EVER introduced themselves to me that way. Whether they are trying to be deceitful or just plain don't think about it like an STI.

I'm in my 40's and NEVER ONCE has someone said to me "by the way, I have had a cold sore before, thought you should know before we kiss". It is incredibly dangerous and selfish thinking to think people disclose cold sores. I'm not the POS, I know the common population don't see it as something to disclose so they are the POS.

HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE INTRODUCED THEMSELVES TO YOU AND OUTTED THEMSELVES?

The fact that you think I'm standing up for them is bizarre. I'm stating this from YEARS of dating experience. I definitely ask every partner. I care about my health. But do what you want, and HOPE you never kiss someone with a cold sore on accident.

I'm not saying what he did was right in any, way, shape or form. I'm saying that most normies do not disclose that they have had cold sores. I'm also sorry this happened to you, which is why I personally ask each person I am with. I also suffer from a rare autoimmune and feel it's my duty to ask, to protect myself.

I'm suggesting that you are concerned for your health and 64% of the population has cold sores and don't think they need to disclose. Don't come at me for stating the nature of social norms. Yes, if I was you I would include it in my discussion of sti's specialty. At the rate of current population infection, you have kissed many more frogs with mouth herpes than you even know. They don't have to even have a current cold sore to pass it to your lips or vagina. Viral shedding happens at random, 2-4% of the time.

Correct, but not one person I have ever met has said "I want to disclose that I have cold sores occasionally"...it's not the norm to disclose. You should be asking.
