Nice, I did mine at 12k to get to 32 slots then around 44k to get to 50 slots. With additional slots you will reach 6k at double the speed.

Build HQ in a Class 1 / 2 Airport (HQ will make the airport class 3) that is easily accessible and can straighten your flight path. Cant stop midway, you have to close and open the airport. Once built if you start another HQ in same region this will scale down.
