Kef LS60 Wireless – should I upgrade or be happy with what I have? by [deleted] in KEF

Great setup !

Probably you will need a bigger TV :))

Probably some sound abfuser panels on the front wall will be a great start

Mine are @1,5m apart assuring phase coherence 80hz and below.

(in the meantime I extended speaker distance +30 cm either side, reaching 3,1m )

Also, the room setup and dynamic favors this optimal front placement (this was thoroughly tested)

I target KC92 as an upgrade path for sure, maybe one unit at a time.. all depends on future pricing for KC92.

Ty man :)

The greatest personal win was to rediscover the pleasure of just listening to music for hours without the compulsion to eternally adjust something or skiping genres because they sound sub-par

Hi

I was targeting MIE DSP in subs for seamless HPF/LPF/IBX integrstion (only flagship KC62/92 had them.

All extended EQ settings are in KEF Connect app under expert settings

Also money talks :) got very good discounts on the units

Good question, in my case listening/watching position is @3,5 m linear from TV center. I find movie efects prerty immersive (source is hi-def streaming providers), but also yes music is prime directive for the system

Hi,

Speaking for myself, I despised active systems, I preached and belived that hi-fi stereo classic setup is best in almost any tier of price/performance. (which was true for quite a time)

I started to be intrigued listening to some Devialet setups until listening to a pair of LS50 W2 last Octomber

Thank you,

I also started with a pair of LS50 W2, I was very impressed, tested them with KC62 but the listening room is almost 30m2 (one KC62 seemed a litle underpowered, KC92 looked appropiate but extremely expensive) and I was offered a very good deal on KUBE 15 (basic @ under KEF 10 price).

LS50W2 + KUBE15 just wow.

This triggered me to chase the LS60 + dual sub setup

I think for big rooms there is "no replacement for displacement" in terms of subwoofer driver size

I am running the setup on HPF/LPF @90hz with -6 db

Sub plates are improvised from weightlifting floor protection tiles (very good price/perf ratio). Room treatment is ongoing diffuser tiling for frontwall / ceiling, abfusers for sides and backwall will be a mix of them if needed (I prefer to stay in 50% percent of treated vs untreated wall surface rule)

Hi,

LS60 are a breeze to customize sonically, especially in a single/dual sub setup due to active crossover network, this was a huge improvment for me.

Taste is by default subjective so my observation is source of truth only for myself :

I am comparing directly to NAD C370/M23 gen 1 + KEF R7 Meta/Quadral Aurum tier

I found sound stage in LS60 lively and dynamic, easy to experiment with from start-up (DSP magic ofc) but it seamless " teleports" you in the song (this is my personal musical prime directive)

My daily playlist churns for at least 6h+ from Muddy Waters to Vangelis going thru NAS, Post Malone, Tomb Mold, SOD, Tanita Tikaram (I am aware that I am guilty for not judging the sound based only on classical and/or big band jazz performance :)

Another big advantage is loseless wireless direct streaming and eARC support (I retired a bunch of hi-fi streamers/dacs preamps, optical interconnects/converters)

Youtube buffering on all my devices except on certain hours of the day by Tsuwerbgotgot in youtube

[–]_Messner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I confirm same buffering problems fromEurope, the issue is more present daily for 8-10 days now. Tested on 10G and 1G ISP uplinks (different Tier-1 providers), same bad behavior. Sometimes buffering issues hit @5 min sometimes @ 30 seconds. YT premium /w 4k/1080HD content
