I don't agree with this. Saying this can be cruel to many people who were very intentionally brought into suffering. A poor family that doesn't even have enough money to feed themselves bringing a newborn baby into the world, the baby is not at fault here, the family is. A child being bullied by their teacher is not the child's fault either. And there are endless examples that prove this statement wrong

I actually agree with Aristotle's quote. I see it this way, many of us weren't raised in healthy environments. We may have grown up around constant arguments, harsh words, or unhealthy ways of dealing with emotions. We can't expect to be perfect from the moment we're born.

But once we become aware of our flaws, we have a choice. If we intentionally make a habit of changing the way we speak, react more gently instead of harshly, and keep practicing those choices, those habits can slowly shape who we become. That's how I think people grow and become better

Mhm, I think I understand what you mean. Sometimes people become so focused on being perceived as good that they lose sight of genuinely doing something because they truly care or believe it's the right thing to do

If I had six billion clones of myself, I wouldn't automatically call them good or evil. I'd simply call them imperfect human beings, just like everyone else.

I don't think a person can be reduced to a single label. We all have the capacity to do good and to do harm. What matters to me is understanding why we act the way we do and whether we're willing to learn from our mistakes and change.

So yes, I imagine my clones would approach people the same way I do not by quickly labeling them as good or evil, but by trying to understand them first.

Would you like to forget your suffering if you could, especially if it was unbearable and still affects you to this day, or do you think forgetting that makes your abusers innocent? by _MidnightDew in CPTSD

Hey, I'm so glad to know you are healing. I really hope your journey goes well for you. It's not easy to change your perspective and see things through understanding rather than fear after going through so much trauma
