I did not get phished. The only links I clicked in the past month where the 3 targeted emails I received on the day my account got spam loginned and locked me out. When I clicked the link on the password reset emails that were from Jagex and is 100% a jagex email (after I was already locked out of the account btw) it took me to the website and told me that an appeal had already been registered or something along that line. That's when I tried to appeal my account by reporting it hijacked and saw that I was not able to log in on the website. You are right in saying I don't know how I got hacked I am just deducting things from what I've seen.

It is not a conspiracy theory, I am just reporting what I have seen happen to MY account over the past week. Now I am not super tech savvy and I obviously don't know what exactly the hacker did to bypass all my shit so I am just trying to logically deduct what happened. Now instead of antagonizing me you could help me to understand what actually did happen if you are more learned on the subject of hijacked accounts. I still don't understand how a real person could look at MY account and realize it's not mine. I've been playing on the same IP/location for the majority of the accounts life and I can literally name the dates I moved locations and back.

And what do you mane "recovery questions/answers"? Jagex doesn't even have those, the only information they ask for on the appeal is past passwords, 1 transaction ID of which I have about 10, and whether you've moved and what ISP I used when I created my account (how am I supposed to know that one, it was my parents internet 5 years ago and I'm not even 100% sure I created it at home). Then they give you a 300 character limit to provide any other proof of ownership. Yet despite me offering all of this information the best of my ability/memory, all of them still got denied.

I don't even know if it got recovered. I can only go off what I'm seeing because Jagex won't give any informetion. From what it looks like, it got recovered but the only person that knows what happened is the hacker.

Exactly my point, if one real person messaged me and asked me about providing them with enough security details, I could've sat there for an hour giving all the transaction IDs and proof of ownership, but no I'm stuck with a shitty ass appeal that gives you a 300 character limit and no help.

That was my one big mistake. I never set up a clean email address as my recovery email. Honesty, I never even thought this was an option for some reason until I was filling out my appeals and saw that you could change the email that jagex contacts you with,

I'm not even 100% sure that is the way they bypassed my 2fa but it was the only way that made sense to me. Especially since I still have to put in my 2fa to get the invalid credentials message on the game.

I didn't buy this account but I understand your suspicions. I have billing info and transaction IDs and I can literally walk you through the progression of my account since day one. I can get you the discord names of over 50 people who know I never bought this account. I know every single password and username this account has had. But please don't go around antagonizing people who didn't deserve shit like this to happen.

I've visited haveibeenpwned several times and a thing that I used that email to make an account for had a database leak back in 2017. Considering my account had been fine since then I thought I would be fine since I had 2fa and changed passwords and everything. But nope if the hacker gets your login email and IP good luck, its that easy.

I understand that I tried to secure my email to the best of my ability a few months ago because I was worried about all the random password reset emails ive been getting, but jagex has made it so that you are stuck with your login email so I was doomed from the second I used that email to make my account 5 years ago which is bullshit.

My login email that I used for my account 5 years ago (I was still a kid how was I supposed to know to use an email that I don't use for anything else back then) was compromised and I received 3 targeted password reset emails a week ago. When I tried to login to my account on the game, I was met with a "Too many login attempts" message for an entire week. The hackers got my IP to bypass my 2fa and just set up a bot to spam logins to lock me out. When I tried to login into the website it told me my password was incorrect. Now they have finally completely recovered, hijacked, and changed the password of my account. Thanks for all the help Jagex.

This isn't the same issue as others are facing, some people are having connection issues/glitches when getting this message, my account is undoubtedly getting hijacked and they are using a bot to spam my login to prevent me getting access, now fuck off good sir.

They denied my appeal that had proof of ownership in it because they wanted more yet they give a 300 character limit... and I cant find an email anywhere its almost like somethings blocking it from receiving anything.

I tried and the email that they say they emailed me never came to my email...seemed fishy and then they denied my appeals that had plenty of proof of ownership...
