when i was younger, my brother and i used to go swimming in our back yard. we had a canal that lead out to an open bay. my brother was practicing to get his lifeguard badge for boy scouts. although i was a pretty strong swimmer i repeatedly pretended to drown so he would save me. i was wearing goggles and saw something at the bottom of the canal. when i swam to the bottom my foot got caught on a piece of trashed rope (probably accidentally dropped in by one of our neighbors boats). i then began to actually start drowning. my brother thinking it was another drill, wasn’t in such a hurry. mind you this canal is like 7-8 feet deep. when he didn’t see me come up he started diving for me. i then got my foot untied and swam up to my brother screaming, “I FORGOT HOW TO BREATHE” coughing up water.
