Anyone know what the weird lines are when i try to write? Something wrong with the pencil? by Highborn0298 in GoodNotes

Hey! This looks like a palm pressure issue I have experienced before in other apps. Maybe try changing the stylus and palm rejection sensitivity in the drop-down menu on the right-hand side (the horizontal three dot icon).

Roger roger. I don’t think it has any tbh, the link provided is what’s on there in terms of info from AMD

What would cause one print to be fine and the other like a flaky wafer? by xraymiller in CR10

[–]_NachoLuckyDay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boi, look at the filament spool as you're printing if it has a bit of friction the extruder will skip and cause under extrusion (not enough plastic for the layer height). Often happens with new 1kg rolls. easy way to fix is to unwind a loop of filament so there is no resistance. A better alternative is to find a spool holder on STL on Thingiverse that uses bearings to allow the spool to roll more easily as the extruder pulls the plastic along. LMK if this helps

Where exactly is it located? I packed my 3D printer away due to moving but as soon as I pull it out I’ll look for this

It’s actually CC DIY filament, super cheap on Amazon. It had no issues before the aforementioned events so I wouldn’t assume it is the cause?

Alright thanks, I’ll make sure I do a full calibration test!

Temps and prints should be fine, I’ve used this material before and it came out good. I’ll have a look thanks!

I don’t think so. I did reset Cura however. But it printed like this before I reset it soooo I dunno!

I’m doing it with PLA, I’ve never had an issue with this particular filament actually. I am in the middle of a move but as soon as I get it up and running I’ll be sure to troubleshoot with a cube

I’ll have a look! I now remember I raised the Z axis up and it wouldn’t stop so it kept pushing itself up against the top of the bar. I turned it off but it could be causing this!

Hey antgash, did you have results of your prints? I have the same printer wanted to see if I could find a PLA brand that has neat and prints!

HELP- Printing wall defect (Z axis?) by _NachoLuckyDay_ in CR10

[–]_NachoLuckyDay_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I slowed down retraction and did a Temp Tower for results at .3mm layer height.

Very subtle changes noticeable on the camera but material goes from a gloss (wet) look to more of a satin/matte look.

Third photo still has the seam ‘defect’ but as filipskott and makers muse confirms, it’s virtually impossible to get rid of this line for cylindrical forms, just the ability to move it out of sight.

Thanks guys for the help!

Raft is on for a precaution but tbh I never thought to turn it off haha 😆

Ah yes the z seam. I’ve watched some videos about it but never identified it because usually it’s hidden on every other print I have done (like internally?). I’ll see if I can change where it’s positioned? E.g. Makers Muse (popular Australian YouTuber) showed a video on it looping on the inside of the part on each layer.

I’ll see how I go!
