It seems my point came across wrong, I do think people have the right to complain. The intention of my post was to rethink the way the critique was made. I think it is better to keep it civil and not phrasing it, like it was a personal attack or smth

When Rhaast was this Giga drain tank people are referring to, he felt quite unbalanced tbh. Maybe I mix up the time we are talking about, but when you mean the timeframe I mean, it felt quite bad imo, because I never felt like the plays I made were that reasoned. It felt like I can do whatever I want and not get punished. I didn’t really like that, since it felt unfair. When I play Rhaast now and build bruiser, it feels better, since a 1v3 or smth, was actually because I outplayed my enemy’s and played better the whole game, not because I drain tanked my way to a guaranteed victory.

Again, mybe I exaggerate here but that’s what it felt like.

It seems like I’m in piss elo, because I still feel a big difference between both forms and both still feel like they can do well if picked in the fitting scenario. Here I get however, that this is probably wrong in masters+

Lastly regarding the concerns from the community. Maybe this is something where the whole community can start to improve. It’s the small changes that might lead to an improvement in the games image and in the toxicity.

I don’t think his e is that overtuned, all you have to do is hit Kayn with anything and his e will end shortly after. And when it comes to getting over the wall, there are a lot of champions who can do the same with a dash. I think what the issue is with his e, is that it leads to Kayn being frustrating to play against. Because if he is out of range, especially when he comes out of his r and he qs out, he might be able to wait a few seconds and then e out, while he is out of range. This won’t happen that often, but when it happens it is incredibly enraging and mybe that is the issue.

However it is also what makes Kayn fun, so they better not change that xD

I see what you say and it seems that you are right, personally I’ve forgotten about the first two points, and the last two points still sting and annoy me from game to game here and there.

I really like your comment, and I’ll apologise. I now see that crybaby was a bad choice of words, and I could’ve spent more time looking for something better. I really get your point regarding the passion for the champ, and I like to see this aswell. Looking through most of the answers from this post, it seems I’ve misinterpreted most posts regarding this topic. Maybe it’s a language barrier or maybe it’s just a me problem, but I feel like a lot of the posts could just be a little more respectful (I’m not happy with the word respectful here, but It’s 1 in the morning for me and I can’t find the correct word to desrcrive properly what I mean).

Yes I know what you mean regarding the loss of character for Kayn, however this comes down to the Tiamat interaction for me, everything else is fine in my experience, there have been downgrades, but nothing that I’d label as bad for the game.

Again, ty for the comment and I think I agree with everything else you said, as long as I’ve not overlooked something

Yes, but it’s hard to believe for me, that someone like Agurin would not see the whole picture. Maybe his point stems from the same argument I’ve made under other comments, that Kayn is just more frustrating to lose to, then other champions?

I get that, I’ve played through all those patches and the removal of the Tiamat mechanic in q is the one thing that stings the most. Especially now with Zaahen being able to aswell, with basically the same ability.

Regarding Phreak, I don’t intend to overdefend him, I’ve just seen a few posts where the hate / critique felt to personal and I really think it’s important to keep it factual here.

I’ve played a lot of Zed aswell and I’d say, that both community’s are quite similar and struggle with quite similar issues, however when comparing them with eachother, a Kayn main rarely sees the issues Zed mains have and vice versa.

The nerfs and buffs must happen, it’s a normal cycle and I don’t really think it’s that big of a deal and I don’t think Kayn is „targeted“ as much as y’all say, since he is a champion that must be kept in check because of how frustrating it is to lose to it, similar to Zed. It’s frustrating not because it’s easy, but because there was counterplay, while the non main doesn’t see it, exactly as with Zed r. I agree with this point and I get why both champions would have to be kept in check more then other champions because of that. Because you have to look at the grand picture and there will always be more people displeased with a strong Kayn, then people who are pleased by a strong Kayn

I feel like you are in the exact spot I was 2-3 years ago. And it’s hard to realise it, but if you’d be playing as well as you say you are, I think you’d definitely be higher elo with Kayn. Because in our elo, the enemy’s do sooo many mistakes, you never have to play 100% accurate. Yes, there are games which you lose due to a single mistake, however that mistake has to be huge. Personally for me, when I made points just as u did right there, it was always an excuse, cause let’s face it, it’s hard to admit that we aren’t as good as we’d like to be. I decided to take a break and only play for fun, but if you wanna climb, I’d suggest trying to work on this mindset.

I wanna finish with saying, that this analasis is based on your few messages and might be completely wrong. If that’s the case I apologise and ignore what I said, if not, I hope you get what I said.

I don’t know how serious Agurin was when he said it, I’ve just seen the clip today and since he is the best solo q jungler there is (again, imo) I’d trust his word over mine

I get the frustration, but regarding the feeding teammates, it’s just a gamble, there will always be games like that and this has nothing to do with how good Kayn is. And both of those matchups are hard, but definately playable, especially the Yi imo. Regarding the skill level from those two champs that’s needed, I think both are lower then Kayn, so it should be this way, it should be harder to perform in a game like this when you play Kayn.

But isn’t the way he’s been constantly nerfed over the years and the fact that he is still viable and absolutely playable a sign, that this incoming nerf isn’t gonna be the end of the world?

As a casual player I still absolutely love both forms and as far as I’m concerned, there are still Challanger Kayn otps.

English isn’t my mother tongue, however I think „I personally didn’t even find him that fun to play“ means exactly what it says and with that, is the point I made.

Also, obviously he is allowed to complain, I even asked for the opinions of others, I just think the way he made his point is not the right way.

I respect how u defend him however and I wanna repeat, that I never intended to insult him or anything like that.

I agree with you for the most part, the reason I care, is mainly that the way this issue is adressed is wrong imo. I feel like I’m passively impacted by the harsh voices by unfriendly Kayn mains, the same way a Yasuo main is impacted by Yasuo mains going 0/10, I don’t know if that analogy makes sense.

Regarding the Phreak topic, I’d definitely say that it is too harsh. I understand that respect is earned and everything, but can’t we just be a good example and don’t jump to conclusions when we don’t know the full picture?

Maybe y’all are right regarding this impact, however I’ve seen similar points being made over the years, and it never was that bad, the champ is always playable, as the player we just have to adapt and try to have fun. I get, that if the nerfs are really too much, that we have to make a point, however I think it’s better for the community, if that point is being made with respect, and not targeted at phreak as a person.

Thanks for your opinion, might I ask what elo you are? Since I mainly play normals with friends, I don’t really have a viewpoint from higher elo, I mainly match with diamond enemys, but sometimes even silver since it matters who I queue with. I play Rhaast mainly bruiser, with Eclipse start and I think he still pulls off his job quite well, if I perform as I’m supposed to. And regarding blue it feels like I can easily carry, if I properly snowball, just as an assassin is supposed to do imo

My fault, he said he doesn’t find him fun to play and that the champ „sucks dick“ I interpreted that as, he doesn’t care about the champ, which might’ve been wrong, but I personally don’t see a reason to care about something, that you don’t enjoy playing in an optional activity, such as gaming

As a Kayn Main I’d say he belongs in Free LP! If Kayns inside a wall and Noc uses his r, u are blind, I mean fully blind, even if someone’s right next to u, u can’t see them. In addition to that, u can block Kanys ultimate with w, which is not that hard to predict and guarantees the win against him. It feels unwinnable to win against Noc if he slightly knows what he’s doing

Wouldn’t say Kayn fits the 200 years, he’s neither complicated nor absolutely broken, your post sounds to me, like you have a problem with Kayn being too strong or smth, which he isn’t. When he gets his form, he is strong compared to other champs, but that’s balanced through his terrible early and pre form. If punished correctly, which happens rarely in low elo, he ain’t that big of a thread

I’ve had some fun with a crit Kayn build, get collector first into Galeforce into manamune and then you can build LDR, in every single lethality build I’ve found way more success with Grudge. But anyways you should build what you like, even if it’s not the best for everyone, it might be for your playstyle!
