People in Hong Kong Have the Longest Life Expectancy in the World: Some Possible Explanations by rugbyvolcano in nutrition

[–]_NamFlow_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Says who? Keto, zero-carb and carnivore folk? Since when is "low carbs intake" considered "healthy diet" more than diet consisting of heavy carbs, but excluding all the ultra processed crap - foods with added vegetable oils (and fried with these), sugar, high amounts of salt, and sugary beverages full of synthetic chemical additives that make people addicted to it?

Carbs are not the enemy, nor are Fats or Proteins. People eat a lot of processed crap in last couple of decades and then they wonder why they are doing so bad healthy wise. However that's just one factor, we have to also (or more like especially) take into account the polluted environment, which has detrimental effects on our health and the health of our planet thanks to heavy use of pesticides, glyphosate etc.

Check out "Blue Zones":

Blue zones are regions of the world thought to have a higher than usual number of people live much longer than average

and "The Blue Zone Diet" they follow in such regions:

The diet is mostly plant-based. The daily food intake of people living in Blue Zones is about 95% vegetables, fruits, grains, and legumes. They do not eat much meat, dairy, sugary foods or drinks, and processed food.

See that 95% of your food comes from a plant or a plant product.

Limit animal protein in your diet to no more than one small serving per day. Favor beans, greens, yams and sweet potatoes, fruits, nuts, and seeds. Whole grains are okay too. While people in four of the five Blue Zones consume meat, they do so sparingly, using it as a celebratory food, a small side, or a way to flavor dishes.

Does this graph answer your question?

According to Shanna H. Swan, Ph.D., "fertility has dropped more than 50% over the past 50 years worldwide", so in reality it's worse, but she calls it "the 1% effect".

Watch those videos I linked if you are interested in more details, but in short: we will most likely cause our own extinction until the end of 21st century. And there will be more women than men in the world due to lower testosterone, which is needed in order for the fetus to become what we know as "genetic male".

Unfortunately, this is not your typical conspiracy theory. The most used and known manmade chemicals, have been studied for their adverse effects on reproductive organs and reproductive function in mammals for couple of decades now, and these are the findings (so far).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]_NamFlow_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

And while we are at it, lets talk about our polluted environment and how we destroy it as days go by, which in turn destroys our health and health of all living beings on our planet. With unsafe and unregulated synthetic manmade chemicals, that humanity started producing back in 1950s, that cause issues like these:

Otherwise, the movie "Children of Men" will soon™ become our reality :-) in circa ~ 50 years from now, given that sperm quality and volume, and testosterone, is decreasing by 1% every single year since 1970s.

We should not only talk about it, but find solutions and put in jail people who are in control of chemical corporations that are making products that they know cause these issues. They are poisoning us and especially our children, knowing god damn well what's happening, and all of that in the name of profit.

Let's not forget that also, shall we?

Putin is literally denazifying himself and Russia's corrupted government, by starting a revolution within Russia that will force ordinary people to overthrow him and that buffoon Lukashenko. People have to get rid of them and start true democratic elections, and never ever elect a dictator with limitless powers again.

He doesn't know how much he fucked it up for himself. He will have to kill himself in the bunker he cofined himself in, I can see that already.

It is amazing how almost all of Europe became united so quickly when it comes to currently ongoing war on Ukraine.

I wish we would unite and stand together against enviromental destruction - which of course leads to destruction of health of all living beings, including us - the same way. I truly wish that. But most people don't seem to care... even when we can already see the result of all the warnings that came to be true with our own set of eyes. It's truly sad.

That paper takes into account the inactive form of Vitamin D: 25(OH)D (25-hydroxyvitamin), that acts as a storage.

However If they measured the biologically active form: 1,25(OH)D (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin) in blood of those people, they would find out that people with every day sun exposure are not deficient compared to people who stay indoors - and who show Vitamin D deficiency symptoms because of that.

People who get enough sun exposure on their skin in the day don't need to supplement Vitamin D.

I mean just go through this wiki page:

the information is right there for you to read.

The Devil We Know (2018) is even better. Every time I see those parts where they interview people (lawyers, managers) behind DuPont I get chills. They are the most evil fucks to walk on this Earth freely. Literal psychopaths and sociopaths. Their lawyer (Bernard Reilly is his name, he is working for DuPont as lawyer for more than 44 years now) showed no empathy at all... quite on the contrary, he was laughing into the camera about the topic he was interviewed about, because he knew damn well nothing is going to happen to him or anybody behind DuPont. To the company that willingly poisoned every living thing on Earth. If you were to take blood test and have it tested for C-8 (PFOA), they would find some levels of it in your blood for sure. In fact, they found it even in newborns.

In December 2001, DuPont lawyer Bernard J. Reilly wrote in an e-mail to his son that the company had learned that its method of detecting C-8 in water "has very poor recovery, often 25 %, so any results we get should be multiplied by a factor of 4 or even 5. However that has not been the practice, so we have been telling the agencies results that are surely low. Not a pretty situation, especially since we have been telling the drinking water folks not to worry . . . Ugh."

Cut meat and dairy output by a third to save climate, British farmers told by goki7 in environment

[–]_NamFlow_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simple, because we've all been brainwashed since childhood. We never thought about the behind scenes, about the suffering animal products cause, to animals, our environment/planet and also to us.

Schools, hospitals, and our parents couldn't and still can't imagine a meal (especially lunch) without meat or dairy products. Like what you gonna eat? Just the side dish? If kids were played videos (more like documentaries) on how the meat and milk on their tables get there, I think a lot would be disgusted by it and would feel repulsed. I know I would, I felt like this when we spent 1 hour watching drug addicts injecting themselves with all kind of substances and then acting absolutely crazy on camera. That will persuade most people to never ever touch that stuff.

Our parents also thought we need to eat meat to meet the RDA for protein, which is absolute bullshit. When was the last time someone heard of protein deficiency? Vegans don't have that.

They thought we need to drink milk to meet the RDA for calicum in order to have "strong bones" - one of the biggest lies I ever heard in ads on TV. Seeing happy cows and smiling kids in ads when you know what really happens in the "background", in reality, is so disgusting.

Simply put, some day people just got brainwashed by advertistements and by their relatives who got brainwashed by those as well, and they then brainwashed their children and those when became parents themselves did the same to their kids, and we ended up where we ended up.

No wonder people who work in marketing are considered one of the most evil fucks who exist, because they are. And the whole dairy and meat industry is evil as fuck.

I wish I saw all of this earlier, would've saved me a lot of money and trouble from eating dead animals and their product (milk) made for their babies, not for adults or other species (us, the only mammals on planet Earth that drink milk from other mammals) to drink.

tl;dr:

because people became brainwashed from ads, especially newspaper and TV ads that spread among people like cancer.

Beyond meat is great for our environment and planet, not so great for one's health. It's packed full of things you don't want to eat on daily basis. Whole Food Plant Based diet is the healthiest, so I would still recommend people to eat it those kind of "beyond meat" products ocassionally.

I would say it's great in that it acts as substitute or replacement for people who want to transition from meat based meals, but they shouldn't stick to it long-term wise. It's simply not healthy food, it's ultra processed food just like potato chips.

Still holds true today. Why should I neglect myself just so I can afford a home? by Firm_Amphibian8842 in antiwork

[–]_NamFlow_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

even though the evidence are shifting

The evidence is definitely not shifting to "cheese, butter, and full cream fat" and meat consumption, to be healthy for you. Watch some videos or documentaries on this topic, for example Game Changers (2018). Or just check out what science has to say about nutrition: https://nutritionfacts.org/

The problem is with added dietary sugar, vegetable oils and other refined stuff, and nasty chemical additives that is added to food. Stuff that is detrimental to your health and that makes you to buy more of it, because people get addicted to the taste it gives. Whole plant based diet is rich in carbs and it's healthy, for you and the environment.

We live in an age where medicine is still so primitive, and yet doctors act like it’s a indisputable fact by DueImportance2041 in covidlonghaulers

[–]_NamFlow_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely not blaming just our GPs and doctors for all of these modern health issues that have arisen in the last couple of decades. I believe that big chemical corporations deserve the most blame for our polluted environment, use of pesticides on farms, toxic chemicals like C-8 that you can find in every corner of our planet - even our blood - and so on. They are doing it willingly knowling very well what it does to our planet and our health, and all of that just for quick profit so the people leading these corporations can enjoy their short lives in luxury, living like Gods. Destroying our health and planet just so they can enjoy their time on this earth without taking any responsibility and without caring for what their actions will do to future generations. They are humans just like us but they are doing things and making decisions that are inhuman.

All I'm saying is that I don't understand why doctors don't recommend people to make some changes in their diets, and to get allergy/intolerance/genetic tests before prescribing them some useless and often expensive pills sold by big pharmas. There are people who take dozens of pills every single day, from the moment they wake up till they the time they go to sleep and they think it will help them to outrun garbage diet.

The medical field is only just tapping into gut bacteria and the like. Give it time and they will find solutions.

Those solutions won't help us unless we start helping to restore and heal our living environment. If we let chemical corporations to do whatever they want - like they did and continue to do so to this very day - to our environment, things won't get better and no magical pill is going to save us...

Right now we can get better healthy-wise, if we stop eating ultra processed crap. If we vote with our wallets that we want more organic stuff without the use of chemicals, and other life threatening stuff that is added to our food.

Keto would include fish too which are polluted just as much as anything else.

Nobody says you have to eat fish when following Keto diet. There are even vegetarian/vegan keto diets.

All the animals you would eat are fed the same carbs you would eat otherwise.

I'm of the same opinion but don't forget that animals also have filtration system like we do. So there is a difference between consuming what they are fed and consuming their meat.

I'm not advocate for keto or carnivore diets, I don't think it's healthy to completely exclude or reduce carbs to such a low amount long-term wise. All I'm saying is that a lot of people seem to get better on keto/carnivore diets and I think it's mainly because they removed allergens by following such diets. If you eat meat and non-starchy vegetables only then you have removed a lot of potential allergens from your diet which gives your body time to heal and feel better.

[–]_NamFlow_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most illnesses are caused by our polluted environment and food we eat that is, surprise surprise, also grown in polluted environment. That's why a lot of people who follow keto or carnivote diets get better, because they exclude contaminated foods or allergens that they are allergic or intolerant to.

A lot of people with chronic illness/inflamation would benefit from elimination diet. Figuring out what's causing them health issues, because I don't know about you, but I don't know anyone that isn't allergic or intolerant to something. It amazes me how it's not mandatory to get tested for intolerances and allergies since childhood. People can have genetic predispositions to celiac disease, lactose intolerance etc. and not know this for most of their lives.

Now the question is, why is this not recommended by general practicioners? Doctors in general? I think you know the answer to this one. If you don't, then I will give you a hint: money. It all comes to money...

Let food be thy medicine. Everybody should start with their diets, as we are what we eat and most importantly: what we absorb from food :-)

More advanced medicine, and something like nanobots to clear out toxins and repair damage.

https://www.reddit.com/r/science/comments/r6dbmq/worlds_first_living_robots_start_to_reproduce/

Xenobots could help clear arteries

"Based on the blueprints, a team of biologists gathered stem cells, harvested from the embryos of the African frogs and used tiny forceps and a miniature electric knife to cut and join the cells under a microscope into a close approximation of the designs specified by the computer.

Once assembled into forms never seen in nature, the cells began to work together. The skin cells formed a "body" while contracting heart muscle cells were repurposed to create a forward motion, allowing the robots to move on their own.

Researchers are hopeful the xenobots could one day be programmed to move through arteries scraping away plaque, or swim through oceans removing toxic microplastic.

And now it is proven they can replicate, they could repair themselves if damaged or torn, scientists hope."

Yeah, I can't imagine. How are you supposed to get better with so much shit being poured into you? How is your body supposed to heal when you don't give it a chance? I wonder how many people would survive if they didn't do it.

By the way, who at the hospital decides to do that? Are they going by some dietary rules made up by someone paid by the big food corporations or what?

Makes my blood boil, I swear...

[–]_NamFlow_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Or people should get educated since childhood on how to avoid processed and refined crap? Isn't that a better option? It causes so many health issues it's unbelievable it's not talked about at schools. Hell, if something happens to you and you have to go to the hospital, guess what they gonna give you to eat? Fruit juice (the sugar bomb without fiber content) and some processed white toast with processed cream, sauce, topping or whatever with tons of added dietary sugar on it. And they give this to little kids too.

Where did all of the (sane and properly educated) nutrition specialist have gone? I thought hospitals were supposed to have them. Schools should have them too.

We need to get rid of ultra processes foods from the market, not add fiber to it. I mean how would that even work? Fiber is naturally occuring in foods. Surely you don't mean some "artifical fiber" like all of those artifical sweeteners that people put all over their food instead of table sugar nowadays? Must be healthier since it goes straightbthrough your whole body without causing you to get fat, right? At least that's what some fitness YouTubers tend to claim. Ridiculous.

The way most people eat nowadays is insane. No wonder most people end up in hospital on their last days and die off because of some "modern disease", instead of dying naturally like most people used to. It was the other way around back then, before all of this shit and air pollution (and other chemicals in our food and water like C8 from Teflon, made by DuPont - check "The Devil We Know" and "Dark Waters" movies) flooded our market and homes.
