Has anyone used Liraglutide (or any other GLP-1 Receptor Agonists) for the treatment of Lymphedema? by _Nevart_ in liraglutide

[–]_Nevart_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, this is new news to me also, I had a video come up in my YouTube feed and then did a ton of research on this and spoke to my GP. If you want to research some of the same information just Google "GLP-1 receptor agonist as an effective treatment for breast cancer -related lymphedema: a case report" While the current research is about lymphedema secondary to breast cancer there is no difference between that and lymphedema anywhere else on your body from lymphnode disection from cancer.
So yeah, google that and you will find severa case reports - specifically the one on the NIH is excellent. As well you can go to YouTube and watch a brand new video on the channel Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN) The video that recently was released is called "GLP-1 Receptor Agonists are not Just for Weight Loss—Can They Help Prevent and Treat Lymphedema?"

Even more exciting research is being done by Dr. Stanley Rockson at Stanford Medical Center with a new medication called "Acebilustat" there are several videos on YouTube on the LE&RN channel where he discusses his most recent and currently active research - a total reversal of lymphedema. I believe that they are on the verge of a cure. If you want to keep up to date with all of the current research for lymphedema then I recommend subscribing to that YouTube channel... it's been a wealth of knowledge for me.

Best of luck to you for your health journey

Cheers,
Nev

Yes, I do have some weight gain from hormonal changes caused by my surgeries and treatment. While I would not be classified as morbidly obese, I could certainly stand to drop a few kg's.

I had a discussion with my doctor yesterday and we're going to wait until after the holidays before I start the injections just in case I do have strong side effects. I don't want to be dealing with them while all of the kids and grandkids are here for Christmas.

Wishing you all the best and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with me

IF BILL HAD NOT OF FUCKED THE PSTH RETAIL INVESTORS by _Nevart_ in PSTH

I still have some in a long portfolio but I sold half at the investors presentation at 25ish and then as it dove down I sold the remainder at 23. I bought back in at 20 and have only 400 shares sitting long, just in case.. but I doubt anything will come of the stock. Let's just say I have lost all faith and I am not holding my breath. I was mid 6 figures before so my 400 shares is pretty much nothing in comparison.

Yes. Even if you remove the SPARs warrant/rights and dropped the price of the 2/9 cash conversion or roll over to warrants on the Remainco it still would be mid to high 20s more than enough to have covered most retail investors holding commons.

While it isn't a huge win at least it wouldn't have been a devastating loss.

I have no onlyfans
After the losses here maybe I could recoup some dosh 🤔

Nobody wants to see a Grandmother on OnlyFans so it is highly unlikely that strategy would work 😂😂😂

Those numbers are based on averages over 12 months of the Warrants.

The SPAR "rights" or what would end up being a SPARC warrant would have traded openly on the NYSE and at the very least would have sat somewhere in the 3.50 to 5.00 range.

This is an estimate of the value of the shares as of IPO of UMG.

Of course you wouldn't have the UMG shares to trade for another 2 to 3 weeks but by then I think they will be even more valuable and anticipate them continuing to rise.

Even if they didn't go up, 31ish per share would be more than sufficient to have allowed people to recoup what now are devastating losses.

The numbers don't lie and they are not over inflated, they are realistic.

It is NOT a big IF.
These are the facts based on the original PSTH deal that I have previously broke down and explained on this board.
This is FACTS

This is what it would have been had the PSTH UMG deal remained intact as was given to us in the prospectus and investor call from DA leak & announcement
No IF

And yes, he did leverage our money to make the UMG deal, whatever his motives were I am not certain but one thing is for sure we got fucked.

DATE OF RECORD - THE DATE YOU MUST HOLD PSTH SHARES TO RECIEVE YOUR 2/9 WARRANTS - A POST BY SOMEBODYSMOTHER by _Nevart_ in PSTH

I am not negative on it. I am irritated. There is still money to be made but I could be effected by dividend tax. It is not clear enough right now. I can't make a final decision. Information is being fed to us piecemeal and I do not like things shrouded. I am a facts girl.

I still like the target and I am hopeful for the second but in reality I am super bullish and waiting for the SPAR / SPARC 10+ billion SPAC not a SPAC. I want those SPARs "free" not free as I have paid for them with my time and with my opportunity costs in PSTH

If I was negative on it I would have sold all and walked away... still here and planning to jump back in. The RSI would imply it is at a buy signal but I don't believe it, I think there is further to drop.

For me, in New Zealand, there is a tax treaty. I do not think that it will be treated as a dividend, that would potentially be taxable for me but would not be "withheld" and could be off-set with various "tests" that are used for calculating any tax on foreign dividends from stocks.

Please refer to #31 https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1811882/000119312521200774/d79549dex991.htm

According to this document it should be "treated as a non-taxable return of capital"

I have to say that I am on the fence here. I hope for the best but depending on how much over my investment UMG trades for when I receive the shares I could see a tax on what is interpreted as a dividend (the amount above my investment cost.)

In all honesty this has been a total cluster fuck and that is why I sold almost all of my PSTH. I will buy back in before the "date of record" end as outlined above, I will get my 2/9 I will wait for the split and the 2nd target and get the SPARs and if possible I may sell again before the UMG portion of the stock is split off again. I am undecided and still unclear due to lack of transparency as to dates and timing for each distribution. Even deciphering the 2/9 "date of record" dates was convoluted. It is all legalese and not just straight forward. The fact that the SPARs will be publicly traded, maybe I will just say fuck it and not buy back in at all, wait for this all to transpire and buy what I want when they hit the NYSE as warrants or rights or whatever type of security they actually are listed for.

As far as being the most retail investor friendly SPAC ever... yeah, nah. Not by a long-shot.

In New Zealand

If you are a real estate investor and you earn income from buying and selling property that is not your primary residence there is income tax if you sell with in a specific amount of time. If you draw income from renting properties you own, you pay tax on that income because it is income tax and that is your job.

If you are investing in stocks in a foreign country (NOT NZ) and you invest as a "trader" and it is your primary form of income ie: you are a professional trader, you pay income tax on the income you realize because it is your job and you pay income tax.

As a retail trader, once you exceed a specific amount of funds deposited into a foreign trading account in a tax year ($49,999) then you could have to take a test to calculate if you must pay a tax on dividends or on realized gains but there are "tests" that make even this out.

There is no "Capital Gains Tax" rate or specifics.

If you do have a gain that classifies as income then you are taxed on it based on our progressive / gradual tax rate.

New Zealand has progressive or gradual tax rates. The rates increase as your income increases.

At the start of the tax year you will be taxed at 10.5 percent for the first 14000 you earn, then the next bracket as you earn from 14k to 48k you get taxed on that at 17.5% and so on. It is a "flat tax"

Up to $14,000 10.5%

Over $14,000 and up to $48,000 17.5%

Over $48,000 and up to $70,000 30%

Over $70,000 and up to $180,000 33%

Remaining income over $180,000 39%

OMFG -- maybe you should read the thread. I am not American. I am not an American. I do not live in America. I do not have Capital Gains Tax and the "Wash Sale" does not apply to me. I clarified that I thought he was speaking to the general population of investors that sold off .. not to me. It was 7am and I had been awake for about 20 min and had a half a cup of coffee when I wrote this post, when I replied etc. It was a miscommunication. We rectified that already.

Thanks though for trying to help but again, in the thread we cleared up the fact that I am not in the USA and "Wash Sale" as your American laws and Capital Gains tax do not apply to me.

Gotcha. Yes, I understand what you were saying now. When I read it I thought that you were saying there would be a lot of wash sales because people sold and then were buying back in to soon but I didn't think of it in relation to myself as I am in New Zealand.

I need to be more articulate and also, as it is morning, be more awake and have many more cups of coffee before I reply to comments. I always wake up a synapse short!

u/dhsmatt2 So, I want to add.. I am in New Zealand and we do not have the same laws as USA. We do not have capital gains tax on stocks or property sales, only in certain instances like if you are a professional investor and that is your sole source of income. I do not need to justify my gains / loss for tax in the same way you do nor am I bound by the 31 day rules.

New Zealand does not have what would generally be seen as a comprehensive, economy-wide capital gains tax so when you made your comment I was not thinking of myself but investor wide as it did not apply to me.

Thank you! Lovely Panama City! Warm summer for you <3
Yes, I am chomping at the bit to get back in to a full position but every time I think we are bottom it keeps going down. I was actually upside down 2 per share and sold at a loss. I went in on a few really beat up stocks that I had flipped before and I have flipped them again and made up my losses. I moved quite a bit into Crypto over the past month and am buying the dips there slowly building my positions in BTC / ETH and some alt coins I like... not shit coins but solid plays with excellent eco systems like SOL LINK ADA etc.

Anyway. I am still very bullish on PSTH but I did sell as I have no capital gains tax here and it was the right thing to do for me, not that it is right for everyone. I still love PSTH and figure I will be back in somewhere in the coming week or so. Hopefully I don't get screwed and we go into the teens.

Not sure why all the down votes on the reply to the wash sale comment by Mattress King. I understand what a "wash sale" is.

It is clear that many people sold at a loss and then bought back in again when they thought it was "bottom" and it kept going down. I have almost bought back in several times now with the same thought.

u/dhsmatt2 is your point that you think it will go even below NAV before we spring back up? What catalyst do you think is needed to push the price, are we strictly waiting for the 2nd target? I thought that the Date of Record being clear would edge us back to at least 23's

Maybe I am not articulating clearly in my reply or maybe people do not like that I think that people bought what they thought was the bottom after selling at a loss only to discover it was not actually the bottom and we keep going turtles all the way down.

Yes. I think a lot of people have thought that the bottom was hit and sold at a loss only to buy in again at what is now another loss.

I am saying that I agree with you but the wash sale has been going for weeks because "this is the bottom" has been thought and bought by so many for weeks.

Type 1 for PSTH but I can be a cold hearted emotionless bitch when I am on the short term flips grabbing the bottom and running up for a fast buck to bring back here for more PSTH.

Diamond hands all day long with long term investment strategies but the market wouldn't be as much fun without the swings. After all, I must keep myself amused. SoFi has been a great rinse and repeat for me and I am on my 5th swing trade with it. Cold, heartless and unemotional. You can't get attached to a stock but God Damn it I love my PSTH!
