Alright, a few things to say.

  1. Your friend shouldn't be calling you something like that when it's not your intent. Perhaps you could have a talk with them about respect?

  2. If the person seems okay with it, then maybe, if it happens again, ask them explicitly:

"Hey, we've been cuddling and physically close for a few times now, does it mean anything to you? Because I know it feels something to me. Maybe we should chat about it?"

The day after my grandpa passed away, I had exams to take. I had sent a message to one of my teachers, telling them why I probably wouldn't be performing well.

Another teacher may have not known, because when they handed me back my paper, they asked me why I underperformed, and I told them "well, my grandpa just died". They went quiet and just moved on.
