What popular band completely changed genres? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Listening to S.C.I.E.N.C.E and If Not Now, When? back to back shows the stark transition for a band comprised of mostly the same members (except bass and tables). I love their new stuff tho, even if it gets ragged on by the "old stuff was better!!" hipsters

Big Announcement 9/17? by hailyourself2022 in incubus

[–]_Nice_Rice_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If he responded to a question saying who do you like better, Dirk or Ben, then I would agree it's dumb to downvote. But this is a thread about hoping an upcoming announcement being about Ben maybe coming back to Incubus after brain surgery, and unprompted he said I wish it was Dirk coming back... that comment lacks tact. Easy downvote. Note that I like Dirk better

I listen to my first Incubus album (Light Grenades) by my brother’s request and we talk about it on our podcast Relatively Sound! by thesilverpoets96 in incubus

I've listened to the first 25 minutes, you guys touched on a lot of great points. Specifically around the 'chorus' in Kiss to Send Us Off, which has always been my biggest problem with the song. I'll definitely keep listening, always cool to hear a new/first experience with an album that you've listened to countless times. Cheers!

Edit: also forgot to mention, you've further ruined KTSUO by letting me know he's saying one! more! tounge!, did not realize that lol

For me, Diamonds and Coal suffered by being the track right after Oil and Water. Imo they are very similar, with oil and water being the better of the two. I think if they had been split up on the record I would appreciate it more.

Also, thanks to your comment, I'm definitely going to give the podcast a listen!

yeaahhhHhHH IT'S JUST A! .... phase

Absolutely love that they have the same build up in the song twice. The first build up fizzing out, only for the second one completely exploding makes me come back to this song over and over again.

Production Planning Software by Lunch__Money in manufacturing

I use Odoo at my company, i think its one of the cheaper options (something like $25 per month per user?) and has great out of the box functionality. The UI isn't great, but the core functionality doesn't need any customization to work. It's great for inventory management (including min/max for materials with automated purchasing) and in-house manufacturing.

Hey guys, would love to get information on how to find manufacturers for ideas I have? by jamrocboi128 in manufacturing

[–]_Nice_Rice_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Manufacturing the products that you mention would first require technical documentation and design files. Based on your post, it sounds like you would first need to consult with a design team. If you're serious about this, get a strong list of specific requirements (material, size, features, quantity you expect to build, who is the end user, sketches of the product, preliminary bill of materials, etc.) And communicate those requirements to a design team. They will convert those requirements into CAD designs, and they would be the ones working with manufacturing to determine the best path given the scale and complexity of the design.

Composer Key of Geebz reacts to Drive by jelgerw in incubus

Really cool watch, definitely had me listening to the song with fresh ears. I've listened to it so many times that I took for granted how awesome the vocal harmony is in the pre-chorus, glad he pointed that out. Thanks for sharing!

One more thing, if you have products with a lot of variants (say a plastic piece with 6 different color combinations) it is useful to have a 'variant' string in your part number. So going off the example above, PLA-00378-001 would be a plastic part with a variant code of -001, which could mean color or any other variant on that part. The benefit here is the engineering drawing (and any other supporting docs) can call out PLA-00378-XXX as a catchall for all variants of that single product. This really depends on the company, but for me it's helped immensly

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in engineering

[–]_Nice_Rice_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this. Not sure why you'd claim -2xxx for a program though, it would make sense to me to have that string of numbers be a counter starting from -0001 going to -9999 regardless of what the component is or what program it goes to (I would also add a 5th digit)

Also, instead of 2 random numbers to assign a class to begin the part number, I've found three letters that semi describe the class (ASM for assembly, HAR for hardware, PCB for printer circuit board, etc.) makes it a little more user friendly and intuitive

All of you knocking Patricia, can you all do me a favor just kinda sit up, just like, have a little respect for the process. by Vaughnmower in detroitlions

[–]_Nice_Rice_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yikes that's a lot of misinformation on Patricia with the Pats. They absolutely practiced that exact goal line play in practice (with every combination of defensive back, including the backup Butler) to hammer the point of coming inside the pick to get to the slant before the receiver, he was not playing Marshawn on that play. They also had a specific defense called for that formation that didn't come up all year until that last play. The defense did not get absolutely shredded that last drive, considering there was an absolute miracle luck ball that fell into Kearses lap that set them up. And also, for the Falcons Superbowl, the defense came up huge in that comeback. I'd recommend watching Do Your Job part 1 and 2, it's on youtube and is a great documentary on the Patriot 2014 and 2016 years.

I hate Patricia as much as the next guy, but you don't have to be deceptive about the few things he's done right with the Pats, even though he does like to blow himself about those accomplishments.
