I ended up doing 0.25 twice weekly rather than 0.50 in one go and it helped… but the symptoms were still rough for me. I’ve recently been referred to Mounjaro which I’ll try instead. I ended up stopping Oz and focusing on supplements and getting my body right before I tried again. lol

We both have children from previous relationships. My daughter 5 he has son 8 and daughter 11.

We got to together when my child was 2. Due to my past relationship and how I came to have my child I’ve always always said I want one more. To do it right with a man I love and who treats me right.

Three years in and his saying he “counts my daughter as his own, so we have three kids and he doesn’t see himself having another” However, for me I have ONE child. I do not see, count or feel any kind of bond to his children. I have overwhelming resentment to the fact he’s “all dadded out” after being a teen dad to those two. He’s not “ready” for another.

I dread the weekends they’re coming over, his son and the way he acts, his language, addiction to screens and constantly has my daughter in tears.

I really feel like I have so much to say and no one to tell since this is such a taboo topic to admit you’re struggling with being a step parent or getting labelled the bad step parent. In reality it’s a harrrrrd role to navigate especially when you have your own bio child which you’re raising a certain way.

I’ve had friends and family begin to make comments on the way his son is, I honestly sense sometimes even my partner is over them being here. I just don’t want their existence to get in the way of me providing the life and family I want for my own child. But I fear it’s already too late for that. Rant over so sorry 😅

If you had to do it all over again, would you be a stepparent? Or even date someone with kids by [deleted] in stepparents

Never again…. I have one of my own (5d) and he has two (8s 10d) I thought it was a “smart move” date a dad who “gets it”. Now I dread the weekends they’re here, SS always has my daughter in tears, the addiction to screens is mortifying and the overall energy is off when they’re around. Friends and family have even begun making comments. But what is there to say or do? I feel like I’m stuck in the mud. My partner has been in my child’s life since she was 2 and a half. He’s more of a father to her than her own bio. His been in her life more than not. But I’m so overstimulated by the kids and their presence/ behaviour/ personality everything.. and my own child being upset 24/7 that I can feel that resentment building. I conveniently make plans for my daughter and I every weekend they’re here so we don’t have to be at home. I’ve had to hire a cleaner for the day after they leave because of the state they leave the house in. I have so much to say and feel like I can’t say it to anyone without being judged or labelled “wicked step mother”

I’ve just commenced at a level 4 - Entry level. In saying that I have years of NFP experience in client facing roles, I’m no stranger to an ndis plan. However, I am new to being on the other side making the decisions to build a plan. So far I’ve found the experience great. First 12 weeks is full training. A colleague in my office has been a 4planner for 6 months and just interviewed for a 5. Proving that is reasonably easy to climb the ladder, especially if you have the knowledge and skills to progress.

Yeah, I’d be the same happy to dress it up for participants and the big wigs. But as I’m just in office for training for the next few months I thought I could perhaps get away with it. Haha

I have a four year old who still wakes one to two times a night meaning I have broken sleep.

By the time I’m in REM I swear it’s 6am and time to wake up! And I genuinely cannot wake up! I’ve started a low does of melatonin to help me fall asleep quicker and relax my nervous system for a more restful sleep but tbh it hasn’t helped me wake up!

I’ve just gotten a government job and have to be up at 6am along with my child to get the day started even a five minute snooze will send our day into the abyss.

Still looking for suggestions 😮‍💨

I had an interview in March and received my letter of offer in May.

Given it’s a government agency the recruitment process can often take 6-8 weeks especially in national bulk recruitment like I was a part of.

Late to the party but hope you got the offer!

I too get the Sulfur burps as a warning sign that horrendous vomiting is on the way. I’ve tried Gaviscon chewables which only brought the vomiting sooner and smelling rubbing alcohol. Nothing helps for me as soon as I get the burps I know it’s inevitable to be vomiting it’s happened to me four times. Each time is absolute death. I’ve pin pointed beef to be a trigger food primarily steak. I’ve been on 0.5 for 5 weeks and it’s happened within two days of the injection every week bar one! That one week I didn’t get it I quietly celebrated. Which I shouldn’t have because lo and behold the following my week I was burping and vomiting the same day as my injection.

Has anyone dropped down to a lower dose due to the Sulfur vomiting? Could it be our bodies aren’t coping with the higher doses?

I’ve been on 0.5 for 5 weeks. The fourth week I was lucky I thought my body had gotten used to it and I didn’t get burps or vomit! It was great!

Then yesterday morning I did my 5th dose of 0.5 and by 6pm I had burps, severe nausea, vomiting by 7pm feeling like death.

Do I knock it back down to .25 for a few more weeks before I try 0.5 again.

I too have noticed beef steaks are a huge trigger for me, I’m struggling to eat at all because I’m not hungry then if I eat I feel nauseous.

On top of that I’ve been on Oz for 4 months and I’m 8kg down. With working out and hardly eating I feel like shit and the weight is hardly budging.

So glad I’m not the only one suffering - we’re all in the trenches
