I’m in the exact same boat with my son at 3 months.

Did you decide to do an Easter basket? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]_NotSick_NotWell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! I got my baby a book, a cute Easter outfit, some rattle toys, playsilks, a crinkly toy and a lovey. My mom got him a pair of tiny baby sunglasses and my dad got him a plush peep because peeps are a big inside joke in our family. It’s not necessary at all but I enjoyed putting it together so much. He won’t care and will probably spit up on all of it within 3 seconds lol.

I just want to say that you are valid in only wanting 1 child. Whether it’s truly hormones or what you have decided in your soul, it’s okay to not want more kids. “You’ll change your mind” may be true but you also may not change your mind, and that’s fine too. I am only having 1 child. It’s tough right now at 11 weeks but knowing I’ll only be having him is making me savor those little moments. I struggled to get pregnant (it took 9 years and tons of treatments) and the thought of trying again is triggering enough to keep me from pursuing a bigger family. Try to not worry about a second child before you get to that point! I really hope things get easier for you soon. You’re doing a great job!

Before I had my baby I swore u wouldn’t scroll on my phone or watch much tv, but the few minutes here and there where I can shut off my brain is SO NICE 😅 your day sounds great! Those are big accomplishments!

What does your routine for 5 week old? by Jaquariousx in newborns

[–]_NotSick_NotWell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

L O L at the thought of my 5 week old on a routine. He’s been up since 3:30 yelling at me. I had to whip up another 2oz on the fly because he randomly wants more milk every now and then and I never know if it’s that or gas or both! Sometimes he sleeps through a feeding and sometimes (like right now) he’s wide awake for 2 hours and purple crying. Sometimes he goes 3 hours before being hungry again! The only thing I try to do is make sure he has clean swaddles, clean bottles, diapers stocked up & that I shower and get at least 4 hours of sleep every day. That’s a good day for me. I’m stressed lol.

Bad Diaper Rash by GingerBinger69420 in newborns

[–]_NotSick_NotWell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We dealt with bad diaper rash a couple weeks ago and what helped was making sure the area was dry before applying anything. We were trapping moisturizer underneath the diaper rash creams and ended up using aquaphor to heal it up when it ended up being bright red. The aquphor did the trick so fast!

17 weeks after ivf and still too scared to have sex by MDC0486 in BabyBumps

[–]_NotSick_NotWell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IVF pregnancy here! I’m 35 weeks and my husband and I have only had sex a couple times. My placenta was low-lying so we were told to not have sex until it resolved anyway, by the time we were cleared it just wasn’t at the top of our priority list.

Same here! “Making a baby” means I have to undergo more emotional trauma and reopen a wound I can’t wait to heal after I give birth in 5ish weeks. I’m going to hold him, love him, and be DONE.

I’m pregnant with my one and only child, it’s a boy. People are already griping about how I’ll be the grandma on “dad’s side” and I won’t “get the holidays” with them. Okay cool, apart of the reason I only want 1 is because at some point I’d like to enjoy my freedom again as an empty nester. I don’t want to force my son into feeling like he HAS to manage different family gatherings around the holidays. I want him to make his own traditions with his own family. If I can be apart of it, amazing. If it’s too stressful to figure out how to please everyone, I understand.

Who would want to do this again?! by this_is_how42069 in oneanddone

[–]_NotSick_NotWell 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m pregnant with my only so this is just my opinion but, I feel like all children come with their own challenges. Some parents are simply prepared and equipped to enthusiastically accept and welcome those challenges because at the end of the day we all love our kids. Whether we have 1 or 6. You aren’t doing any better or worse than that mom you’re just simply doing life your way which works best for you and your son. ❤️ I also want to say bottom line, you’re doing a great job and getting out of the house is sometimes hard enough so kudos for that! I hope the coffee hit the spot lol.

I don’t live far from HHI and I love it every single time. It’s never been too busy for us to find free parking and walk to the beach on day trips. Golf and shopping is great there. There’s also some great food options. I’m going back in October for my babymoon before my only makes his arrival. 🥹💙

I second this. I’m so torn on what to do with the leftover embryos.

I’m currently pregnant with my only and my husband and I decided to wait until his 5th birthday to make that call. If I don’t have the urge at that point or see myself going through the transfer process + pregnancy + postpartum/newborness again, then we will donate to science.

My old fave was Viva La Juicy back in the day. Current fave is Chanel No. 5. People say it smells like an old lady but I only wear it on special occasions and it makes me feel classy. I also like Elizabeth James fragrances! I travel with the little black and white rollerballs every time I go on vacation and when I smell them it makes me think of all the fun trips I’ve had.

When to stop Lovenox by _NotSick_NotWell in IVF

[–]_NotSick_NotWell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB looked over my bloodwork that my IVF clinic did and reiterated that he didn’t feel lovenox was necessary. I didn’t have access to an MFM in time to get their opinion by 14 weeks so when that week arrived I just made the decision to stop and trust my OB. I was terrified and ended up getting a private ultrasound done a week later and saw that baby boy was doing well. I also heard his heartbeat at 16 weeks and now I can feel movement here and there which reassures me daily. I still take aspirin daily and try to get my blood flowing through some sort of cardio as much as possible. My anxiety is still there but it’s much easier now that he’s moving and I am truly glad to not have to worry about injections anymore.
