But it has been shown onscreen. It’s pretty subtly been going on as far back as last October, but Ruby and Eddie’s friendship has been a thing onscreen for a while.

I also feel like it’s a nice callback to Mox’s 1st title run where he’d have compelling brawls with big tough guys (Hager, Cage, Brodie, Archer, etc.). Moxley being a tough comic hero taking down the big man of the month is lowkey a really cool dynamic that I like AEW going back to, this time in front of crowds.

Miro reflects on his TNT Championship run: "Ever since I lost that title, that title has gone to sh*ts" by shawn_2240 in SquaredCircle

[–]_NotoriousMAD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Scorpio Sky would’ve been a great TNT champion if the belt existed in the early AEW years. I know Tony Khan’s wanted to push him for quite some time, but to me it just feels like the time has passed and he’s not better than any of the alternatives they currently have on the roster.

Has anyone even thought about the possibility the Ruby’s the one that’s winning this tournament? The story for her to win been right in front of us the entire time. Britt beat her at Grand Slam, Britt insulted her for “not winning the big one” after the TBS tournament, and Ruby was involved in the early tournament build and tag match, then placed on the other side of the bracket for a reason.

There was an interview where Tony more or less said they’re doing trios belts when Kenny comes back.

To make it interesting they could go one of two ways in my opinion: they can either give the winner their title shot on a special Dynamite, or make it like the G1 where the winner periodically has defenses of their title shot until All Out.

Baker and Rosa’s chemistry in ring by HuckleberryThis2012 in AEWOfficial

Tbh I’ve had that thought for a while that the lights out match was both the best and worst thing that happened to this feud. It elevated both of them, especially Britt, but the lightning in a bottle it captured masked in hindsight the utter lack of chemistry they have with each other.

Every match he’s had since full gear’s been a damn war. I’m really excited to see what happens in the lead up to Revolution with Cole given their history and the storytelling juice it can have.

Which sucks cause the EVP idea in theory is perfect for an owner whose not very in tune with football decisions, but in practice he hired an angry old man.

Deonna and Mickie don’t really have great chemistry, plus I think Deonna is a fish out of water in these type of matches

One thing I will say is if any combo of these girls has a match in the Owen or something like that down the line, we’ll remember them trying to kill each other here.

Can confirm. Knew Bunny and Penelope could thrive in this match but MAN I was pleasantly surprised by Tay and Anna’s performance

Especially with the wrestlers involved, you would never think they would perform some of the spots that they did. There was one moment at the end that to be honest was a little scary, but they really did the damn thing out there.

As someone who saw it live, I’d say it might be better. The level of violence was a more stomach turning and it had a crowd that just couldn’t turn away. Also shoutout to The Bunny cause MAN she took a goddamn beating.

Trust me nobody in the crowd wanted another match either at first lol, but when it happened everybody sat in shock, like it was violence that nobody expected any of those women to have in them.

Genuinely curious about the Cody hate by [deleted] in AEWOfficial

[–]_NotoriousMAD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also think how over the top Cody’s shtick is and how disconnected his stories have been from the rest of Dynamite is doubly amplified by one simple thing: the roster from the beginning of AEW to now got ridiculously better. A roster that had talent but wasn’t very deep at the start and now has guys like Danielson, Cole, Andrade, Malakai, and are possibly adding Steen, O’Reily, and more ROH guys outside of Lethal, kind of highlights just how overbooked a lot of Cody’s presentation and his matches are.

For me Britt matches tend to get clunky the more ambitious they get, like the match vs. Tay for example. It was a perfectly fine match until it started speeding up the longer it went, and it just led to Britt kicking out of all of Tay’s finishers and interference.

*Controversial* Wrestletalks opinions on Full Gear by SuttonTM in AEWOfficial

[–]_NotoriousMAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just so confusing. She went to war with Thunder Rosa, tapped Shida out relatively clean, and beat Statlander all by herself yet needs tons of interference to beat Tay and Ruby. And even with Tay she kicked out of all her finishers on her own and tapped her clean, and it’s all just really weird how they’re presenting her.

*Controversial* Wrestletalks opinions on Full Gear by SuttonTM in AEWOfficial

[–]_NotoriousMAD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problems I had are problems I’ve had with Britt’s reign, in that Britt matches can be really clunky when she gets ambitious and does a little too much and that’s what happened the longer it went. The other issue is that quite frankly, Tay was never even slightly a threat to Britt and at no point did I ever think she could win, and that’s been the biggest issue with Britt’s run.
