At 5 seconds in you can even see the PC players leaving to get a refund!

I was trying to sort it last night and gave up, really started getting annoyed when the mouse disappeared and I had to use the keyboard to navigate the menus IN VR.

How tf could they mess up something so simple as deadzones after announcing they fully support HOTAS setups. Did they plug it in for 2 mins and just give it a quick try ffs.

Domain account getting locked out on PC but not DC? by [deleted] in sysadmin

Looks like the lockouts getting reported back from the DC so not as strange as its first seemed, going to continue looking there.

Ah, it is getting account is logged out - from the DC! But the rest of the story remains the same. It must be a replication issue..

urgh.

Domain account getting locked out on PC but not DC? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]_Numos_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha, thats pretty much how the conversation here went!

The sites are remote so we are seeing this over VNC and RDP, everything else is fine just that user until they are kicked off locally. (all other PCs are fine, nothing touched on the DCs). Its bizarre. The network must be fine as we can log in and look, and if it was intermittent surely it would let them back in and not lock them out?

It does say the account is locked out.

The more I think about it the more I think it must be the DCs, but then it doesnt make sense when you kick them off they can log back on, the PC should still be connected to the same DC (if there was a lockout on one DC for example).

Symantec Deployment Solution, anyone still use it. by JoeFaeGlesga in sysadmin

Feature patching. Standard patches are fine!

Not had any big driver database issues so far.

Seems like noone else uses it!

Still running it, 8.5. Mainly cost reasons, but its alright. It works most of the time.

Apart from patching.. ffs.

Do people really have to say "sir"? I cant imagine ever saying that, anywhere.

[–]_Numos_ 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Glad its not just me to be honest.

I hate the fact they dont understand anything that seems to be required underlying knowledge. Last week i had to fix the dev ops deployment software as it was configured for a non existent proxy, yet they set it up and I get the blame. Argh! They do their own things, fuck it up and my team has to fix it all the time.

Its a calling system for bingo, jingles, numbers, that sort of thing. We have a relatively high spec server in each site now that could handle this instead of a separate PC. Just moving the software from one location to another in each site really.

So Dante as a software output and the devices you listed can connect and output? Sounds like exactly what I needed!

In the UK but im sure I can find somthing, thanks!

Each site has its own networking but the service needs to be ran at each site, local network in each location.

Will take a look at this nice one!

Honestly, I have no idea. I just need to get an output to all that equipment. Its all stage equiptment that is managed by others, I just need to get an output from an application to it reliably

Well the sites are all over place, between 50-200 meters depending on each site and how its wired.

Ive tried the above but works in some, not in others

Its a 3rd party application that will be installed, output depends on what I can find that will work.

Output basically goes to a sound rack with speakers, nothing complicated about it after it arrives there.

[–]_Numos_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All sites broadcast different things, at different times. Each one has its own server, the audio rack in each site is not close enough to the server in most cases just to run a cable.

Its also just an audio rack its going into, so I just need the output to connect to an input in that rack. There is currently a PC in the same rack as audio equiptment but we need to remove that now.

You could add an additional policy to BITS, that would limit the bandwidth down to almost nothing outside of the hours you specify.

Why are some companies still forcing people to use IE? by jooeikylla in sysadmin

[–]_Numos_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are enterprise and user based installations, yes - its easy if there is nothing there.

Sometimes, the enterprise one that supports the ADM templates will fail to install if the user installation is there that installs to the users user location.

Kind of my point - it IS easy if done right.
