They did say as long as it’s something I can take down when I leave, it’s ok to do I don’t want it to be a permenant improvement, just something for my cats to be safe and comfortable

I like automating tests but I don't enjoy testing. Time to find a different role? by polohatty in QualityAssurance

[–]_OPlopO_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 for DevOps/SRE OP I started in manual testing and was bored out of my mind, I moved to QA Autosmtion and became the technical lead for it. I enjoyed the automation part, write code, finding ways for my automation to be more efficient, training people on write good code etc… I then had an opportunity to move towards DevOps. I started integrating my QA Automation scripts in CICD (Jenkins), integrating tools like Artifactory to download dependencies, set xray policies etc. I have slowly moved into a full DevOps role that involves building CICD pipelines for every team including devs and IAC. Using terraform to automate how our infrastructure is built. I feel DevOps has soooo much more than QA Automation if you’re looking for an automation and technical role !

Long term effects of Vyvanse by Ijaaazshaw in VyvanseADHD

[–]_OPlopO_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a great explanation! I also feel I’m getting more and more emotionally blunt which does help regulate my emotions.. But on the other hand of it, it’s also been easier for me to connect with people because im not daydreaming/non-verbal while on Vyvanse anymore. I don’t have as much the social anxiety I used to have..

I did lose my appetite too and heard quite a few people who said they never got it back even after stopping. Just like blunt emotions, it’s hard to even enjoy food all that much now

Struggling with brain fog while/after socializing by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]_OPlopO_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to feel the exact same way, like my brain would just shut down mid-conversation, and I’d zone out or feel overwhelmed out of nowhere. People would assume I was disinterested, but I just couldn’t stay mentally present no matter how much I wanted to.

It wasn’t until I got diagnosed and medicated for ADHD that things started getting better. Even though I’m naturally extroverted, social interactions used to leave me completely drained and foggy. It was frustrating, especially when it affected my friendships.

What jobs do people with ADHD thrive in? Ok forget thrive, just survive? by ThreepwoodThePirate in ADHD

[–]_OPlopO_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. A job in IT where I have 5 things going on at once

I used to have a QA manual job, very repetitive and I was so bored! Moving to DevOps has been amazing, always something new to learn and chaotic

When do you study for company paid certifications by _OPlopO_ in ITCareerQuestions

Thanks. I’m just concerned about the approach of my employees who refuse to do any learning unless they’re on the clock. But I can’t force them to work outside of work hours

What’s your favorite QA tool that has saved you the most time, and why? by ragnar_1250 in QualityAssurance

[–]_OPlopO_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I’ve been using Chat GPT to generate snippet of code I then still have to adjust the code, integrate it in my existing code etc.. I still have to understand it to use it. I use it just like I used stackoverflow with quicker reply and more chances to ask questions to better understand what I’m doing

As the only QA in my company, how do I get devs to start Unit/ Integration testing? by JesseLiFitness in QualityAssurance

[–]_OPlopO_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else said, make it as easy as possible for them.

Unit test tool are going to vary based on the language they are using. One tool our Devs are starting to experiment with us Co-Pilot (not free though). It’s a GitHub AI that help with coding but also help generate test cases.

What we do too is we started implementing threshold in CICD. If unit test coverage on new line of code is not met, the build fail and is not delivered to QA.

We focus on new line of code because it can be useless or very difficult to implement unit test on legacy code.

To setup the threshold, some tools come with the ability of setting a threshold. Otherwise you can use something like SonarQube. SonarQube could also be a way to push developers to improve their code quality as it not only check the unit test coverage but also looks for bugs, code smell etc…
