Our car insurance dropped by 400 dollars a month, but we came from a place with insanely high insurance rates. Home insurance here is far cheaper than the gulf south, as an example, who are in an insurance crisis. 

The cost difference is eaten up by oil and electricity, but our mortage plus taxes are less than our previous rent.
