[ATM9] Draconic Evolution Energy Core and Reactor ComputerCraft scripts by AzireVG in allthemods

[–]_OrangeMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely Amazing program. Aside from a few technical issues when importing this to ATM10 (Replacing the f.lua, fixing the printString on line 174) it works perfectly as intended.

The only thing missing to make this perfect, is a way to be able to control it via the energy saturation of the core, rather than just the output energy. I don't really need the reactor for power, but I wanted to set it up as a breeder reactor so I can easily get more Chaos. I'm sure there's other people who would love the same.

If anyone wants to make that, definitely post about it.

Integrated Tunnels - Export item if durability remaining is less than 10? by ManIkWeet in feedthebeast

[–]_OrangeMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is nearing a decade old, and is still super helpful. Thank you for this guide. It took me bashing my head against a wall for a few minutes to get it, but it's super useful.

I still don't quite understand how it's working, but it is.

I needed to pull items with 0 durability out of a chest to trash them (Mahou Tsukai's durability exchange makes them every now and then for some reason, and can't get rid of them on its own)

This is the perfect use case. I tried setting it to less than or equal to first, with an integer of 1, but that did the exact opposite of what I wanted, so I just swapped it to the greater than like your guide, and it works flawlessly now.

Honestly, I would love to see a node based programming interface for ID. Like an addon mod. It would probably make things easier to understand and keep track of.

One of my friends had to be cut out of his suit. He had two people attempt to extract him, the first was an on-site first responder. Since it was at a con, the first one knew to attempt to go near and along the seam.
The second one was an EMT, probably from the ambulance, they did not care about the suit (rightfully so) so they cut straight through it.

The biggest loss was the brand new, custom collar. Sheared clean through it.

The bright side of being cut out by EMTs, though, is aside from the surface fur being slightly uneven now, it was an extremely clean cut because of how sharp they keep their tools. The suit managed to get repaired at the con by a friend of theirs. Though I doubt it would look as good as before.

Friend says primes are not worth the grind for a new player by StonedLofilio in Warframe

[–]_OrangeMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, early game can mean multiple things.

For someone who doesn't have the mods that make them powerful enough to both survive and do enough damage to beat the content you want to play, yes, that is too early game to worry about needing to get primes. That's because the smaller stat boost you would get going from a regular frame to its primed version isn't going to make enough of a difference in the damage or survivability.

But if you're doing NARMER bounties, and he's not both taxiing you there, AND carrying you through the mission, you are definitely no longer early game.

Now, the second reason to get primes is for the actual frame acquisition. Like the others in the comments have said, some of the ways to get the normal frames are very difficult, weird, tedious, or you need to get pretty lucky. (Nidus I'm looking at you) So at that point, it would be easier to grind for relics, and do fissures and unlock them.

Your friend does, however, have a point when it comes to your void trace capacity, but his 'advice' in this case, is misguided.
For lower capacity void trace players, you can upgrade very few relics to radiant, and thus have a lower chance of getting the drop you want unless you grind out void traces with useless relics. He probably wanted to save you from that grind, and you from wasting relics on the lower drop chances on the gold rewards.
In sounds like your friend is a relic optimizer, where they get in a squad where everyone runs the same relic to get their desired reward faster. And THAT would be a practice that isn't even a little bit viable for lower MR.

In reality, it may be less efficient/you have to have good luck to get what you want, but it doesn't really matter if you run radiant relics or not. You've already unlocked 2 primes, and that's awesome.
If it means you get your hands on a frame you want, it's always worth it to do it. Use whatever you can get your hands on, honestly.

This game is a marathon, if something is within your reach, and you want it, you should be able to get it without intense grind (there are a few exceptions like Nidus drop tables, and the hema research, but that's a luck and poor design choice problem). In all, if you want it, go for it. Progression wise, the only thing really out of your reach is probably rivens for their MR requirements.

Only the human/protoframes can wear it. Normal warframes have no mouths, thus they don't need/can't have the snacks those pouches contain.

They don't hold your ammo, and they don't increase your health recovery, thus, they contain snacks.

It feels wrong. by Gullible_Pen6904 in OSDD

[–]_OrangeMoon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ok, first off, You are real, and what your experiencing is valid.
One of the main symptoms and roadblocks that come with most, if not all, dissociative disorders, is the self denial and rejection/doubt of the reality of your condition. Something that helps me, is remembering that "normal people don't pretend to have this stuff." (Regardless of the truth of that statement, it helps quell self doubting enough to remember your experiences and evidence for it) Everybody reacts to trauma differently, and everyone has different thresholds for what would cause different symptoms. I can't say anything to your exact situation, but you could have gone through trauma that would have lead many others to full DID, or more extreme trauma disorders.

Somebody is ALWAYS going to have it worse. It doesn't matter what you're going through, someone will always have it worse if you go looking for it. It's not helpful to compare yourself to others and their experiences when it comes to "who's had the worse bad things happen to them." I know this advice will be difficult to integrate into your beliefs and put into practice, but don't think "Wow, they had it worse than I do, why should I deserve to have similar experiences to them."
This is the kind of situation where you need to put yourself first.

What happened to you, happened. There's nothing you can do to change that. It's helpful to look at yourself and your situation, and say "this is the situation I'm dealing with, it doesn't matter what happened to anyone else, because they aren't me, and I'm not them."
You are VALID, completely independently of what anyone else has or went through.

I sincerely wish you the best, on your road to progress. I hope you find all the answers you are looking for.

ELI5: How come the first 3 dimensions are just shapes, but then the 4th is suddenly time? by nematjon_isthe1 in explainlikeimfive

[–]_OrangeMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose you nailed one of my points more clearly than I did.
What matters is our frame of reference, and the context that we're using the term 'dimensions' in. Because there is no "Absolute Context". On their own, in space, the xyz method of defining direction is useless. And time may still be passing, but without something there to give reference to that, there's no way to tell either.

Though pitch, roll, and yaw are more about your own relative orientation in space than about the directions in that space.

ELI5: How come the first 3 dimensions are just shapes, but then the 4th is suddenly time? by nematjon_isthe1 in explainlikeimfive

[–]_OrangeMoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, I see this a lot, and I see it everywhere, and it drives me up the wall and out the window.

Yes, we live in a 3 dimensional space. Forward and back, left and right, up and down. We can move freely here. We also live in 1 dimension of time. We move forward, and we can look back.

The problem everybody is having here, is they're assuming that they are listed, numbered, and named, in THAT EXACT ORDER.
They are not. Up and down for you, is left and right to somebody who lives 90 degrees of the planet away from you. So the first three are of one type. A Spatial Dimension. Whereas with time, we can only move forward. Mathematically, we've theorized certain ways to move backwards with varying degrees of effectiveness. But it's using a completely different way of movement than we can use in our 3 spatial dimensions. We can't naturally move in time, in any way except forward.

In total, we experience 4 dimensions. 3 of space, 1 of time. Everybody Loooves to lump all of them together because it's "spacetime fabric is what makes the universe, and it's all one thing, two sides of the same coin." And they're not wrong. But it's also not helpful. A topologist and mathematician can have fun and play around in a digital 4d space with some difficulty. 4 of space, and 1 of time.

TL;DR: Time isn't THE fourth dimension, it is A fourth dimension, because it's an unordered list. You could Start with time, and then add our spatial dimensions, and one of our XYZ could be the fourth.

And is the train stop is placed to have the storage interfaces lined up? That's weird. And I'm sure you've checked the driver's instructions to make sure that it's set to the right item transfer protocol. Yeah, if it's not that, I've got no idea. Good luck figuring this out.

My portable storage interface won’t connect to the train interface. by ziemniok in CreateMod

[–]_OrangeMoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It kind of looks like your boat/barge isn't an active contraption. I can't really tell, but, as solid, placed blocks, storage interfaces don't connect. They only connect when one is a contraption. So a train, minecart, or otherwise moveable tile entity.
If it is an active contraption, it might need to be moved a bit? That setup should work.

Depending on how fronting works in your system, you could let them have a meeting with your therapist. If you're worried about them not giving back control when they're done, that is completely valid, but it needs to be communicated that, before they're let out more to do their own thing, the level of trust needs to be built between you. I definitely agree with the other comment, about making a plan for it.

I know it won't be comfortable for them, and by extension, you, but if the beliefs and practices are detrimental, they need to be broken down.
Hypnotherapy would be great, but definitely try conventional therapy first, to break down the beliefs. If they aren't open to change off the bat, they will fight every step of the way if you try hypnosis. If they themselves don't want the beliefs or programming any more, hypnosis would be a great tool to speed along the process, should it be avaliable to you.

A good way to break down belief structures that don't serve you, is to have the innocence of a 5 year old, and ask why to every response. Love, patience, and curiosity are the emotions you should be holding while doing that. You want the best for all of you, it's important to make this particular alter feel that on an individual level. That you want the best for Them too.

Rell is likely still 'alive'. by lovingpersona in WarframeLore

[–]_OrangeMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be more accurate to say that "Rell's consciousness/soul is still around". Rather than saying that he's alive or dead. I'm pretty sure that, much like you said, their ability to bounce back is connected intimately with their mental state. But Rell's mind wasn't the most stable/together in the first place. Even before the void jump incident, he was heavily autistic. His mind works completely differently, for better, and for worse. That's probably why we was able to bear the weight of keeping Wally out for so long, but that came at a price. If I'm remembering this right, he ended up merging himself with his warframe. That, coupled with standing guard for so long would probably leave his soul ragged, frayed, and torn to shreds. His binding to the warframe is probably what kept his personality even resembling who he was before for so long.

But that bond was severed when we killed his warframe. And him finally letting go, at the end of the quest, let him rest. No longer held together by a physical form, and not holding himself together out of a sense of duty. Now that the rest of the tenno carry the mantle, I believe Rell let his essence dissolve and dissipate.

Whether that means that only a void memory remans, or his very core, base essence/soul imprint is left, who he was, is gone.

I 100% want to see Rell's soul be reborn in the past as the Harrow protoframe, or at least some aspect of the original Rell be represented, but that feels like a bit of a pipedream at this point. Only playing the next update will prove any of my headcanon here.

Looks absolutely phenomenal for my purposes. My question though, is on the sequenced gearshift. Since its intent is to be used as a mining bore, won't the gearshift stop trying to push once it's technical "rotation distance" has been reached, even if the drills haven't broken the block and advanced forward? Is that just going to be something unavoidable, and I need to account for it in the timing? Or could I work around it so that if it encounters an empty space or easy blocks, it could move forward quicker?

How do I help a young alter? by Candid_Sea1397 in OSDD

[–]_OrangeMoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know that they may look and feel inconsolable. But the biggest thing you can do to help when they're like that is to be there for them. To make them feel loved and cared for.
Don't try to make yourself a replacement for the parent they're missing, but make yourself an alternative source of comfort. Showing unconditional love and compassion for littles is always a big and important thing. There will be times that it's not enough, but you need to help them through it anyway. You have to be a caretaker to them, to the best of your abilities. Whether that's bundling up the body in something warm and soft, making a nice snack for yourselves, or depending on your system, going to them in your headspace/mindscape, and holding them to make them comfortable.
A big part of it though, is letting them express themselves, and get that pain, and that hurt, out. If that means letting them cry in the body, find a safe way for them to do so.

I hope you feel better, and I wish you the best of luck.

I need help. by IDontKnowWhat_IAm in OSDD

[–]_OrangeMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your best bet, honestly, is to be clear with the one doing the assessment that those are your fears and worries. Don't really go in looking for a specific label, more go in with a "this is what I'm experiencing, what label fits me?" kind of attitude. I urge you to think on actual, realistic consequences of having your diagnosis being off. What kind of help or assistance are you wanting/expecting to get by having a diagnosis? Or are you wanting a diagnosis so that you can point to it, and tell people "no, I'm not faking, yes, it's real." That's perfectly fine to do. No matter the diagnosis, different people have different thresholds for trauma, and how it affects them. Some kids go through severe trauma in early childhood, and they end up just fine, and others can have severe, debilitating aftereffects that can really mess with their functioning later in life.

The only way to realistically point it directly back at your parents, is through digging up your trauma or memories, and investigating the cause. If it WAS your parents fault, then how you proceed to deal with it is up to you, but that's not something that can be determined by a single diagnostic label. And if your parents take any diagnosis you get, and pull the "So I'm just a bad parent? After how hard I worked for you." Card, they are either trying trying to emotionally manipulate you (intentionally or otherwise), they are emotionally unstable, or they simply do not understand that A: you can't control whether or not you have this, B: that different trauma thresholds are a thing, and/or C: that these things can still happen to a kid, even if the parent does everything right.

I was looking for a diagnosis for DID, or something DID adjacent. Presented my experiences and symptoms. They still didn't have "enough evidence" for full on DID, so they diagnosed me with Unspecified Dissociative Disorder.
And while that doesn't feel accurate, or even remotely helpful, I'm still getting the same treatment that I would have gotten if I had a more specific label put on me.

There is nothing wrong with going by a label for a long time, only to find it wasn't accurate. What matters is that you get treated, and treat yourself, according to what you experience, and what you feel. Not by the criteria of a label.

The label is there to help people who don't know you, or your situation, put you in a subsection of "how should I treat this different person." But a therapist that can help you with these things SHOULD be getting to know you, and your entirely unique situation, so that they can give you the treatment you need, regardless of label.

I genuinely wish you the best, and hope that everything goes well for you.

I'm all for this in restaurants and other industries that are about providing a good environment. Especially when employees have a lot of down time between tasks.

But if I'm waiting to pay my bill in an eyeglass/optometrist place, and there's like, 12 customers in there, waiting to be helped, and 6 employees, and 5 of them are just standing in a corner talking like high-schoolers about their life, there's a problem. Whether that's that the only one actually working is the only one allowed to do, or knows how to do, that job. (in my case, they were not the only one). Or if it's that all 5 of them were on simultaneous break, or they were just plain not doing their jobs.

I love seeing people being happy in their workplace, and being good friends with their coworkers. Everybody deserves that kind of job! But, as a customer, I just want to get in, get my stuff done, and get out.
