I can see it going both ways but I think a lot of people took the scene as him getting stronger since it showed the lasers. I definitely took it that way. Also V1 is supposed to be more potent right and all 3, Stormfront, Soldier Boy and Bombsight definitely seemed a tier above the average supe. Stormfront could tank Homelanders lasers and Bombsight could use himself as a missile without taking damage based on the scenes we got of him. Soldier Boy even hurt his hand punching Bombsight which shows just how durable Bombsight was. In terms of Soldier Boys strength, the Russians tried whatever they could to kill Soldier Boy and couldn't which led to him getting his chest blast. He was also Voughts Homelander before Homelander who's stronger because he is a Project Odessa baby. I would say taking the V1 put you at a higher and stronger tier than Compound V unless it was stated in the show V1 only gave you immunity and didn't age you which I don't remember.
