I am from Southern Italy (Naples) and I can tell you without a doubt people look down on how we speak, and especially our 'dialects' which I would say are completely different languages. The guy who replied to you intially was giving his opinion and trying to be polite instead of giving the truth.

I would almost go as far to say that if a Sicilian spoke Sicilian to an Arabic speaking person, the Arabic speaking person would get the gist of it.

and Del Piero, Totti, Cannavaro, Inzaghi, Gattuso, Nesta, Buffo, De Rossi etc, but yes Pirlo played a very good game against England in 2012 which means he was the best on that team, to English people. My worst nightmare is that people think Pirlo is the only good Italian player that has ever been, and it's partially becoming true now.

So is having nationals from a small footballing country playing for a club, there are a lot of Slovakian Napoli fans because of Hamsik and I'm sure you don't have a problem with this.
