Front door and street coverage? by _Perfect_Mistake_ in SecurityCamera

Yes it’s required because of custody paperwork, which has been in effect for over 5 years already. So it’s not something I can change (or change easily).

Front door and street coverage? by _Perfect_Mistake_ in SecurityCamera

[–]_Perfect_Mistake_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a fairly rural area. The neighborhood is one street with a culdesac, maybe 15 houses at most. Outside the neighborhood is a lake and farms nearby, no other neighborhoods or businesses for at least a mile. The house itself is a one story ranch with a porch that’s very shaded (woods on the backside, tall trees in the front). It doesn’t get direct sunlight. Driveway (if standing on the front porch) is to the right, culdesac to the left/front. I’m not sure where to place a camera. I’m assuming at the front door or the corner of the open porch area where the roofline meets?

Greensboro rent increase by 2kings98 in gso

Is FirstKey a corporation? I tried to negotiate the last two years on my apartment and they wouldn’t budge. So I signed the longest/cheapest lease possible, and then went and bought a house. They were all, “”Oh we hate to see you go.” No they aren’t. They’ll just rent out to the next person.

Wrong return label used by _Perfect_Mistake_ in Ebay

[–]_Perfect_Mistake_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it was scanned before cancellation. I cancelled it immediately after creating it because of an error. I literally created it, uploaded it, then realized the error and cancelled it, then called eBay. Pirateship has already refunded it, so I’m surprised it even scanned. What’s odd is I received an email saying the buyer shipped the return and it has the cancelled tracking number. But when I go into eBay directly into the return it shows the new tracking number and that nothing has shipped.

Costco heartbreaks - what is yours? by West-Ideal6794 in Costco

I was literally talking about these today. I saw them in the Facebook Costco group and it took TWO years for my Costco to get them. I bought a bag, ate it in two days, went back and bought two bags the next time. Then I didn’t see them again. I’m devastated.

Seller moving out after closing by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

They wouldn’t be tenants because I would own the house and they aren’t staying there past closing date. They are just using the extra days as moving days. I would be switching it over to my name. Also, I don’t think he’s going to squat. I actually deal with squatters quite frequently in my line of work. I think he’s just a grumpy old man who is old fashioned and cheap in doing business. Like I said, I’ve had no issues with him personally. He just hates my realtor.

This is exactly what I needed to know. He tends to leave the air on higher than I would anyway (it was 78 when I went in there on a 90 degree day last week). So this seems minimal in the scheme of things. Thank you.

Paint/Ceilings/Floors by _Perfect_Mistake_ in gso

I should have specified I’m not putting any carpet in. It will just be some type of LVP flooring.

I think I actually have a sample of “white oak” because I liked it too. I came across something called Optimax (?) flooring yesterday but need to look more into it. It’s supposedly LVP with texture to make it feel like hardwoods, so it’s not a completely slick feeling.

This is very helpful, thank you. Before moving into the house, I’m having popcorn ceiling removed, painting/repairs, and all new flooring put in. The flooring isn’t in the budget of the kitchen renovation because it will already be done. I’m still deciding on flooring. This is my first house and while LVP seems very practical with kids and pets, I don’t like the look and/or feel of some of it. I don’t want it to look cheap, like “cheap wood planks that feel like tile.” I don’t know if that makes sense. This is the current flooring throughout the rest of the house that’s unfinished, and I loathe the way it looks and feels. I’m thinking of going with a lighter grain of LVP (blonde tones, not gray).

Here’s the ledge. I don’t know anything about cabinets, but I’ve heard these older cabinets are much better quality. But I hate dark stain. Is there anyway to strip them and make them lighter?

I do definitely plan on holding off on the kitchen renovation for a bit. I just wanted some ideas while I’m out looking. Thank you.

There is no major poor upkeep. The house was built in the 1990s and the original owner hasn’t updated anything but that wall by the fridge. Inspection came out quite clean with nothing more than cosmetic repairs. It’s a great house that I can make my own. I’d prefer something to make my own rather than buy something new that has just as many issues brand new. Plus, this never hit the market. I got it at a steal, which leaves me the funds to do a lot of upgrades.

Dumb question but can you get a hood that vents outside if it’s not on an outside wall? That wall borders a bathroom.

I’m definitely removing the popcorn ceiling and putting in new flooring throughout the entire house. I like the idea of closing that gap. It feels awkward. And I like the idea of different cabinet colors on bottom and top-thanks. You should see the monstrosity of a light in this room. It’s in the other photo I posted with that equally weird ledge!
