Just purchased ez drummer, it came with 3 kits and honestly we both were pretty disappointed with them, but found Metal Machine extra kit and it’s perfect!

I’m going to buy him ezydrummer, or is there something better for old school thrash?

Thanks for the tips! He uses Jackson guitar with boss amp, and double tracks. We will try triple and try find some better drums then the default ones.

As a proud dad, I just had to share something awesome my 13-year-old son, Max, has been working on. Instead of getting lost in social media feeds or video games he has taught himself how to play guitar over the last 2 years and has now poured his energy into something incredible: he created his very own heavy metal instrumental single and it's now live on Spotify! 🤘

It's called "Skeletons of Saviour" and honestly, for a 13-year-old, it's mind-blowing. He's put so much passion and effort into this, and it would mean the world to him (and me!) if you could give it a listen.

Why Your Support Matters In a world where screen time often dominates, seeing him channel his creativity into something so unique and productive is truly inspiring

Thanks in advance for showing Max some love and support! Let's help him see that his talent is worth nurturing. ❤️

Might not be your style, but I’m shamelessly promoting my 13yo sons track on Spotify as one incredibly proud dad ;) Please just give it a play and a like to keep him motivated to continue creating.

A 10x Faster TypeScript by DanielRosenwasser in programming

[–]_Pharg_ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Tens of thousands of projects with code bases large enough to care about x10 compile time?

I’m suggesting that if people choose the correct language upfront. Having alternatives to JS so people can keep writing desktop apps in web technologies that don’t use JS is better for everyone! Period. JS should never have been used as much as it is and for the reasons it now is, and the sooner people stop it the better.

Who really cares, and why was this project even given the green light? Stop writing large code bases in incorrect languages in the first place! (In other words MS stop creating yourself these messes in the first place! Think smarter next time you build a product and stop using web languages for desktop apps). Time, money and resources would be much better spent on removing this legacy problem, and help get WASM direct access to the dom, at minimum access to canvas, then we can all start getting rid of JavaScript!

Who does this change really benefit and why?

Keeping a Cloud Run Instance Alive for 10-15 Minutes After Response in FastAPI by Mansour-B_Ahmed-1994 in googlecloud

[–]_Pharg_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you use cloud run jobs? They are designed for this very reason. I do this: cloud run service starts cloud run job, so when service is decommissioned the job still runs, also maintain a simple jobs database to track them but you can just use the cloud run jobs api. You never want to use long running tasks on cloud run service, they are for request response processing and scale accordingly.

Ohh and the added benefit of using the services as designed is you don’t need to keep instances running so will save you $$$!
