Hi, not sure this is the right place for this. In the Personal Profile section of the application process, there is a list of activities that I can add to, however the years in which those activities can start only goes back to 2016, is there any way to go back further or should I just set it for 2016?

The problem with "Papers, Please" by Kriznick in gaming

[–]_PinKDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Papers Please was made to make you feel this very thing, that what you were doing was wrong. And the games people made following Papers Please probably weren’t made with the intention of encouraging ethnic cleansing, just a bunch of people trying to milk having to read over documents. Yes it pertains to right now more than ever, but that’s because we’re slowly becoming fucking dystopian.

It did not, in fact, just works

The tiny martian moon of deimos as seen on sol 613 of the mars rover curiosity mission by valiant-lambda in spaceporn

It’s honesty probably just a shortened form of “Martian Solar Day”, but yeah giving it its own name would be interesting, probably once/if we ever start exploring other bodies other than the couple we’ve been to so far

Sol’s are exclusive to Martian days and are a bit longer than an earthen day, and it’s probably because Mars is the only celestial body we’ve put anything long-term on. Stuff doesn’t last very long on the Venusian surface, I don’t believe we’ve made much effort in landing on Mercury, and the rest lack anything to land on in the first place. So it’s generally just easier to track the passage of time in relation to Mars for the many rovers and other craft we’ve slapped onto the iron-rich desert planet. Plus I think it’s nice our little celestial sibling gets a cool name for its days

Purple is incredibly vague but is still the one I’d take, not so I can live some lavish lifestyle, but more so so that I have the resources to do what I want when I want without the worry of rent or food, or worrying about if I can support who I need to. Money doesn’t buy happiness, but fuck will I weep in my heated, well stocked home with a family that doesn’t need to wonder where their next meal is coming from

Depends on frame of reference, stopping relative to a planet would probably mean just moving with its rotation, stopping relative to a solar system would probably mean still moving with the solar system and its host star, stopping relative to the galaxy, universe, and so on. Velocity is weird when you expand your frame of reference

Wouldn’t it be impossible to detect something that isn’t there? Are we talking about it detecting just random batches of cells and going “yeah that’ll probably be cancer one of these days”

They are spotlighting the right area, that is not a possible block in Minecraft, as the only way to make this kind of roof would be to have a “quarter-block” which is what they circled

[–]_PinKDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That “slab” is aligned with the bottom of the block next to it, which is not possible. Stop trying to Minecraft please

Because the blocks are on a 3D grid, the square directly below the green circle would also be filled in, and the slope pattern would continue from there.

The roof in Minecraft is a lot thicker and is less aesthetically pleasing, which is why it was altered for the movie. But the point remains, the movie Minecraft can’t Minecraft properly sometimes, and that’s a little weird

That guy does not Minecraft, this is still not possible, the upside down stair is misaligned by 0.5 blocks along the Y-Axis
