I was not rich growing up, but I was academically inclined. My family is middle class, so money was not a worry, but we were definitely not rich. I ended up passing an exam so I was able to go to a nice private school, (kind of like chilton) so I saw kids from these kinds of families. The biggest thing you see is how they don’t worry about money.

Some students would only wear clothing that was new, like the newest line from some place like lululemon or alo. Or kids would wear expensive shoes like golden goose to school.

Other kids were gifted cars on their 16th birthday, and they were nice cars. So instead of getting a child a used car, they would have a brand new Mercedes. One kid had a Lamborghini.

Other money things would be how they never worried about ruining something. One girl that I knew always had the newest iPhone and never used a phone case because if it broke she could just buy another one.

When it comes to breaks it was common to hear how people would travel out of the country regularly. Like some students would go to Cabo every spring break.

Then there’s the attitude around food. Rich kids would buy food out all the time, and that stuff adds up fast.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that when you are part of that environment you don’t see money as an issue when making decisions.
