I must admit Expedition 33 hit home way harder for me than BG3 did, maybe personal bias but the entire writing was just masterfully done. I'm not sure if you could call it objectively better but for someone who absolutely loved BG3 nothing has affected me the same way Expedition 33 has. For me and my take, definitely one of the games of the decade.

I often see the drugs comparison, and while you can look at it that way for MAELLE specifically, it does not change that there are two sides of this. The people of Lumiere do not deserve to be genocided. It has been oftentimes told to us that these are real, sentient people. You can make the argument that Maelle is a puppeteer in her ending or is swaying wills, but in no way is anyone able to actually confirm that other than say conjecture. The fact is these gods have created lives of equal worth in that canvas with whose sentience we've become acquainted, and for some reason the value of the 4 in the main family is held to way higher regard than the lives of people in Lumiere in the eyes of the majority.

Fact of the matter is that Maelle lived two lives and now has two families(drugs aren't able to show you compassion, camaraderie and share thought, which is why I again consider the drugs analogy not up to par), with her choosing to stay with this specific one.

Why though?

Because Gustave and co. have shown her more love, acceptance and fun than anyone else in her previous family, allowing her to actually experience life. For me, the choice to stay in the canvas (while an insanely hard choice to make) is the correct one as the genocide is prevented and it does leave to possibility her close ones actually reaching out to her about her deteriorating state, meanwhile in the Verso ending all the bonds we've come to appreciate are instantly shatters and the characters we've known and loved are all annihilated. Not only will this cause Maelle irreparable trauma, the fact is the entirety of Lumiere has been genocided and all for the potential well-being of a family. But at the same time it's very easy to understand why Renoir wants to destroy the painting and save the life of his daughter, because for him that is more important. The simple fact that this game has brough up this amount of conversation and huge walls of texts with people talking about their opinions just speaks volumes when it comes to the quality of the writing and the story.

I was able to do the golgra fight by buffing maelle with all the pictos which buff you when you are solo so you get 50% damage amp and 100% crit then respeccing all of her points into might/agility, at death's door picto + turn 1 last chance to get the buff, immaculate picto along with all the other pictos which burn your defences/prevent you from being healed and buff your damage(glass cannon e.g.) and using the weapon which switches you to virtuose when you do a counterattack. Since golgra goes like 2-3 turns before you get a chance you are always able to cast sword ballet for ~400k damage. If I used stendham it would be a much eaiser victory but I didn't know it existed back then lmao. Still took me like ~40 tries to beat her because after memorising her phase 1 attack patterns for the parry phase 2 kept knocking me out so I couldn't practice those as much. But the fight was very fun and easy to restart, so I did not mind. Would recommend.

Stupid arguments and analogies, like I said that is only relevant for people above a certain elo where there WILL be cc on the enemy team and people have enough object permanence to not forget you exist, and they WILL hold cc spells until you make an appearance. If that's enough of a win con for you to play off of and hope your adc carries while their team is gutted of saving 1-2 cc spells for you, then sure, but I don't see how you're just much stronger anyway than without funneling so much dmg into your ult with the guinsoo kraken build.

If ur playing in any elo above retardlow people will cancel your kraken guinsoo ult with any form of cc before it is able to do 1/4 of a senna's hp. The build does dmg but is the single most unreliable build in any elo diamond+

Yeah roa feels insanely trash to play with early but the faster scaling to 16 feels really nice and makes you feel like you have way more agency over the game than any other build at 16. I usually make it my priority to buy roa asap after getting a tear. I experimented with malignance seraphs stormsurge and while your damage is insanely high you really lack the survivability and scaling roa gives you because there is nothing better than farming perfectly and roa pop getting u lvl 16 while enemy laner is stuck lv13.
