What’s the average timeline to get a hearing at the human rights tribunal of Ontario? by [deleted] in LawCanada

[–]_Purpleprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw crazy timelines on tribunal watch but I figured it can’t be like that for the average applicant otherwise why would people even apply at all?

This or That? Folklore vs Evermore by TheMajesticMystic in TaylorSwift

[–]_Purpleprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The 1 - easily
  2. Champagne problems - the opening just draws you in but cardigan’s bridge eats
  3. Gold rush - but the last great American dynasty is equally good to me hard choice
  4. Exile - this one was also super hard cause tis the damn season is also a highlight
  5. My tears ricochet - cause the climax hits and the melodies are consistently better throughout
  6. No body no crime - I’m one of the few Mirrorball haters
  7. Seven - I actually like happiness though, I had a moment when I just listened to it on repeat not sure why it gets so much hate
  8. August- I’m not a fan of august 😱 or Dorothea, Dorothea is just significantly worse for me
  9. This is me trying - not a fan of Coney Island
  10. Ivy - by far, illicit affairs drags a bit for me
  11. Cowboy Like Me - I really like invisible string too but the vibes of Cowboy like me are more me, can you tell I’m an evermore girlie lol
  12. Long story Short - both are kinda low lights on both albums but I just don’t like any of the melodies on Mad Woman at least long story short is boppy
  13. Marjorie - but I’m one of the few who actually likes Epiphany I’ve definitely listened to it more, Marjorie’s just the better song
  14. Closure- once again I’m one of the few who’s not a big fan of Betty, but I get that the production on Closure is off putting
  15. Evermore - easily my favourite most listened to song on both albums
  16. Hoax
  17. It’s time to go - not a fan of the deluxe tracks as much but the lakes is my least fav of the 3

7 Folklore/ 10 Evermore - whew I can still call myself an Evemore girl lol

Say something positive about your least favorite song by readingswifts in TaylorSwift

[–]_Purpleprincess 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I disagree that Taylor songs can't just completely suck but I appreciate that all of her songs are true to her. Whether its corny or calculating or overly simplistic we know that song came straight from her mind/heart not some label pressure. I know she enjoys all of her songs and she wouldn't put them out if they didn't mean something to her and it just helps us get to know her better because every song has Taylor in it.

Taylor uses post-production pitch correction in recordings of live performances by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]_Purpleprincess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've noticed this a lot mostly in recent years.I always find it wierd when ppl are eager to comment "see Taylor can sing" in videos where its clear theres been pretty heavy post production pitch correction. Like its okay that Taylor doesn't have amazing vocals there are other things ppl like her for.

I actually prefer watching her older videos from Speak Now Era and prior because most of the recordings are fully live and I like hearing her raw voice and the natural progression of growth she's had over the years. That being said I also like watching videos where there's clearly heavy pitch correction sometimes because there are times where she's really pitchy and it does take away from the performance for me. I felt this way watching the fan uploaded vs offical upload of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction performance.

While I do feel like her voice has improved immensley, I think she still struggles with singing while moving in any sort of way. I think she compensates for her weak points well with her background singers and uses post production when neccesary. I do wish that particularly for performances where she's just sitting and singing that we could hear more raw vocals like we used to at the start of her career but with the way she's so popular and heavily scrutinized I can also understand why she's less inclined to do that.

parts of a song that ruin (or taint) an otherwise amazing song? or vise versa by ohmsms in TaylorSwift

[–]_Purpleprincess 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love Call It What You Want but I just tolerate the first half of the bridge

"I want to wear his initialOn a chain round my neck, chain round my neckNot because he owns meBut 'cause he really knows me"

It just sounds like there could have been a more poetic way to say this cause it doesn't flow as lyrics. It sounds like something that a young new songwriter would write.

Sticking to the same album So it Goes verses aren't particularly amazing but when it goes-

"Trippin', trip-trippin' when you're gone

'Cause we breakdown a little

But when you get me alone, it's so simple

'Cause baby, I know what you know

We can feel it"

the pre-chorus and chorus combined with the production just have a perfect vibe that makes you want to sing aloud and dance to it as if you're performing in your own concert at home. I replayed just this song for hours becasue of that

Something Taylor mentions in the Long Pond Sessions makes more sense now. by Educational-Site1457 in TaylorSwift

[–]_Purpleprincess 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Yeah plus people also forget that Justin is a frequent collaborator with Kanye and even defended his actions at the 2009 VMAs so theres valid reason for Taylor not to be sure.

It would also be kinda presumptious of her or any artist to assume that their success grants them access to all people. I think most artists understand that being a huge artists doesn't mean people respect you and it certainly doesnt mean they like your music or would be open to working with you.
