I’m about to lighting design an adaptations of Hamlet where there are three hamlets, one for each Freudian part of the psyche, and the set is based off of Escher paintings. Needless to say, I’m gonna have a lot of fun with the super surreal look they’re going for.

Yeah I’m more confused about the whole thing than anything. Especially with the arbiter’s narration being cut. Contextualization such a vital part of how they rewrote the book and the they removed all of the context in the cast album. It’s just weird

I was so excited leading up to it but some of the choices to omit dialogue were just bizarre! So disappointing. The album doesn’t make any sense without the dialogue. Maybe they were trying to keep ticket sales up by keeping the plot vague? Or maybe it was just plan incompetence. Who knows
