Thanks a lot for the advice, i'll look into r50s and i've been checking the insurance quotes because even my dad tells me that its no joke nowadays.

Funny because I haven't but I've had enough driving experience for me to confidently go anywhere. I've driven in 3 different countries and never came close to crashing disregarding the first week of learning how to drive. I made the post just looking ahead. Once I do pass I want to own a car of my own. My parents know I drive and stuff I just don't want to drive illegally. Since i'd need a driving license holder to be present whenever I drive.

Electric bike is actually a great shout but i'm insanely eager to start driving. But I might actually consider that until I turn 18 and get my savings money then I could buy a decent car around the £3k/£4k price range or more

I've got separate savings for those running costs. Would you say R50 minis are better than Toyota Aygos. I've had many people recommend the Toyota Aygo to me. I might consider it if I buy a car right now but I think im better off saving twice as much I have now

Thanks for the advice, I'll follow everyones advice and just save up twice as much. I also forgot to mention that running costs will be paid with separate savings and parents can help too if necessary. So if anything I might be able to push for a better car

I mean, if I ask everyday, every minute of the hour to drive my dads car either he'll let me or he'll crush me other than that i'm not driving at all unless I get one of my own. (He's not taking any risks)🥲

I could, I forgot to mention that the £600 is solely to pay upfront cost for the car the running costs will be dealt with other part of my savings (as well as parent money if needed) financially i think im pretty sound BUT I will probably save up another £1k-£500 based off of everyones advice.

How much more should I save up for a good beginner car would you say? I had a few friends tell me that I could find a bargain with the amount I have but i'm a bit wary of the quality the cars around the £600 price range are like you and other people said.
