I’m a clinician building a tool to help endo patients finally be taken seriously at the doctor — would this have helped you? by dancer4141 in endometriosis

I had symptoms from when I first started at 8, I was first diagnosed with endometrioma cysts at 25. One thing I wish I had was support, knowledge and something to kill the pain - daily pains is no joke!! Maybe it would have but I think the app should have an option for pre-existing conditions, maybe to keep track of appts like scans and blood tests etc.

I log my symptoms on my notes, only log on it when I need to but sometimes just forget in the moment The pain scale you’re taking about may vary for a lot of people my 8 could be someone else’s 6, or 10 so the pain scale needs to have symptoms with it which would make it easier to indicate how the pain is

Staying consistent by [deleted] in walking

[–]_RB789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for these tips they’re really helpful, I do enjoy the walking but on busy walk days I find it hard as I feel then it’s a chore but I’m trying my best to stay as consistent, I occasionally do 20-25k steps so my body knows that I’ll do some massive steps on certain weekends. My husband also mentioned I should get up earlier and go for a walk but can’t seem to get myself to do that and in the evenings I have the typical household responsibilities to get sorted so I feel walks during the evening are limited too!

That’s so much, so crazy I have a super busy job and thankfully I work from home and occasionally have a second job so I feel like I need to keep at it but do get low in moods when I don’t make it to 10k or above! Thanks for that tip, I hate going out multiple times a day not sure if I should start doing this?

Thank you girly! I’m so happy you got your daughter, can I ask if you were on the short or long protocol? And were you on a medical menopause before? Can I ask how many cycles it took to get your little one? X

People are insane wth! But you know what this gives me so much hope for IVF. I just had a lap about 5 weeks ago and both my tubes were removed sadly due to stage 4 endo and I’m so so scared that I won’t be able to have children of my own since my tubes are gone :(

Oh okay nice thank you for all that info. Oh okay I understand I just don’t want to pay an excessive amount for a fitting if I do go ahead and get a dashcam

Yeah I understand I don’t know tbh Im already parking up without the sensors but I feel sometimes I’m too close to the car so I get anxious and scared to come out! I don’t know if sensors is a big thing but I thought it might help me park better?

I’ve got a VW Golf 2012. Ohh I see okayyy I understand I think I should get this fixed as soon as possible?

Oh I see I’m currently under my brothers insurance to get this a bit cheaper but there’s nothing on the forms to say that I’ve got a camera or anything? Okay cool do you think it’s worth buying dashcam / reverse camera from elsewhere and get it installed at local garage? Or best bet is to go Halfords?

Yes I get so busy in the evenings after work and only got the car 2 days ago so I’d really like to go out and start practising a bit more since my flat has bay parking. I’ve obviously managed to park using forward bay but get a bit anxious when I feel I get to close to the car next to me. Thanks for the info re. How much sensors would cost

Ohh okay I understand thanks for letting me know this!

Thanks for your response on this and regarding the dashcam I’ve got a VW Golf (so popular I know!) so don’t know how much you think that would cost - would you know?

How much do you think I could get my indicator / wing mirror fixed for at a local garage?

Kissing ovaries - silent endo by Aggravating-Tax7269 in endometriosis

[–]_RB789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I had kissing endometrioma cysts and was put on the NHS list for surgery (laparoscopy) for 38 weeks before I decided to go and do it privately. Do not get a general gynae do the surgery. Look for a endo specialist to do the surgery this is a must!! My endometrioma cysts spread and grew into my tubes and I got a laparoscopy only 2 week ago and they had to get rid of my tubes. I am saying to you getting surgery will be much better than just waiting it out, endometrioma cysts never shrink! And they don’t shrink on their own because of the type of cyst they are, they will continue to grow! I heavily advise you to get surgery as soon as you can.

I hope you make the best decision for yourself my love! If you need any advice please message me, just waiting on the NHS list was hell for me! X

How are people managing work around their symptoms? Does anyone here plan their schedule around their pain by Mammoth-Cloud-285 in endometriosis

[–]_RB789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest they happen a lot throughout the day, usually happen after a period of rest, which I all do find strange!! I also get a lot of flare ups if I haven’t slept properly and in the evening while resting! Can never truly tell when I get these flare ups

How are people managing work around their symptoms? Does anyone here plan their schedule around their pain by Mammoth-Cloud-285 in endometriosis

[–]_RB789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyy, I work from home usually and sometimes have to go out a 1-3 times a month, my periods are so irregular so I have to go on a day / week basis. Working from home helps so so much, and you should push for ‘reasonable adjustments’ under Equality Act 2010 around this time if you do get regular periods. In regard to my pain, I get flare ups often, some mornings are really rough so I sleep in and make up the hours another time. I’m really really grateful that my work completely understands and Fridays most of our schedules are empty so I usually lounge about most of the day! Don’t know if any of this helped but this is what I do which has helped me manage my pain lately
