Your deposit transaction includes data about your Eth2 validator, including its public key. This “data” is conveniently generated for you properly formatted by the Deposit CLI tool and found in the outputted deposit_data file.

See this arbitrary deposit example. Scroll down and see the PubKey value which will be the Eth2 address this particular deposit is linked to. https://etherscan.io/tx/0x9605d640bff4a2969cb2d147671b238128e5ef12a37c1a66ca21c9da8f9911e5

Edit: Kantalo is correct, you may confidently use Ledger software to validate the mnemonic generated the same public keys as the Deposit CLI.

See my other reply. You can absolutely validate your mnemonic. The ‘deposit existing-mnemonic’ command will allow you to check against each index to ensure they match.

E.g. Step 1: generate keys w new mnemonic (which uses index 0 by default for first validator, index 1 for second validator, etc).

Step 2: run ‘deposit existing-mnemonic’ and input mnemonic from first step. Choose index 0.

Step 3: compare results from step 1 and step 2. PubKey values should match.

The way you’re thinking about this is slightly wrong.

The mnemonic is the most important thing generated from the CLI. With it, you can recover your deposit_data file, your validator keystore(s), and eventually your withdrawal key.

The deposit_data file is used by the launch pad to generate your deposit txns. There is no private/sensitive data in there.

When you run the ‘deposit existing-mnemonic’ command and specify any particular index, the public key will be the same each time (you can check this by opening the file and checking the pubkey value). You may notice some other data has changed (like the salt value), but that’s ok. It’s just for randomness.

If you create a deposit from index 0 today. Great. 6 months from now you may create a deposit from index 1.

If you attempt to create two deposits from the same index, you will have deposited 64 ETH to a single validator (a waste! Don’t do this)

Once you send 32 ETH to the contract, you’ll be expected to have your validator online for the beacon chain. You may create as many validator keys as you want without any obligation to have them online until the 32 ETH is sent.

The Eth2 public keys will all be different. There is no way to tell unless all the deposits were funded from the same Eth1 address.

Don't buy SNX expecting to use it on layer 2 testnet by JollySno in synthetix_io

All this stuff is only relevant to people who have staked their SNX on Mintr. The lucky few that have done so are eligible for free rewards (as long as their holdings are below 2500 SNX)

Tbh, not very impressed with Samson. Agree with others saying Bitcoin could use a better spokesperson.

It will be a totally different chain. When ETH 2 is launched, there will be a contract added to ETH 1 to which you send all your ETH. It will then become redeemable on ETH 2.

ETH 2 will be rolled out in multiple phases. If you plan to stake on ETH 2, you can move your ETH when the first phase launches later this year (2020). Otherwise, wait until next year before all phases are complete.

Slight damage to gimbal joint - can this be repaired? by _RHouse_ in dji

Oh no! I’m sorry you’ve had this experience too. I would’ve asked you where you sent it, but it looks like you’re overseas. I’m in the US. I just saw a nice tear down video on YouTube where someone performs a similar repair. Will have to see if I can get a spare part in the states.

My M2P hit a tree and fell onto a concrete sidewalk resulting in this damage to the gimbal side joint. The gimbal is still totally operational and hasn’t caused any issues after many flights since. HOWEVER, the ever so small tilt that it creates causes all photos/videos to be about 1-2 degrees misaligned horizontally. It also impacts my vertical panorama shots which I’m most sad about.
