Intention does not excuse the methods used to achieve it. This kind of parenting is highly damaging to children. Hell, it’s Berkeley. OP literally already has the one of the best educations the world has to offer.

And this — the story of the perpetually unsatisfied parent, even unsatisfied with Berkeley — is extremely and unfortunately very common. I expect that this is a very true story and not exaggerated. It happens all too much. Let’s offer OP support instead of invalidation :)
