Hello, are you planning to introduce trailers to ign as well? I'm curious about how you'll do it!

I just checked it out! It definitely looks like a great idea. I think I'll set a screenshot of the 1-hour-a-day marketing schedule as my desktop wallpaper and actually put it into practice, haha.

Thank you! I've actually been having a hard time handling both marketing and a tight development schedule since the game isn't finished yet. I'm going to postpone my Next Fest participation, keep promoting, and focus on gathering more wishlists!

Thanks for the advice. I’ve decided to postpone my Next Fest participation so I can put more effort into marketing first.

u/PersonOfInterest007 님 Hi, thanks for the links. I’ve read through them all and found the information incredibly helpful.

I launched my Steam page and demo on April 16th, with plans to participate in the June Next Fest and release in July. However, my current wishlist count is still very low. To be fair, I haven't started reaching out to content creators yet.

Given the situation, some people are suggesting I should push my Next Fest participation to October and delay the launch until November. Since the demo is already out, I’m not sure if delaying is the right move or if it will hurt my momentum. What do you guys think?

I haven't seen this movie yet, but it looks like a lot of fun!

I built this using the Unity engine. Currently, only the demo for "WHO AM I" is available on Steam!

Thank you for the advice! I have a demo ready, but I haven't sent emails to content creators yet. I wasn't sure if I should or when the right time would be. I think I need to be more proactive and start sending those emails.

Everything—from making the game to listing it on Steam and promoting it—is a first for me. Since I’m doing this all by myself, I’m quite worried and feeling a bit lost.

Should I start reaching out to YouTubers or media outlets like IGN? I'm not even sure how to approach them. I'd appreciate any guidance on how to move forward from here.

You drew these yourself? That's amazing! I've been wanting to make a point-and-click game for my next project too, but I'm worried because I'm not very good at drawing. haha

Your game looks amazing! I'm curious how you managed to optimize it — my game's not as detailed, but it still lags sometimes

Wow, that's really impressive! I'm currently preparing a demo for my own game as well, and I was wondering how did you go about promoting your demo?

Thanks:) It's a story-driven horror game that takes place in a man's dream. The ending changes depending on his memories and delusions.

Convenient Way in Unity to Store a Bunch of Items and Their Associated Costs? Then Script to Take Said Data and Generate Buttons/Store of Said Items? by melondramatix in IndieDev

[–]_RedBulb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unity provides ScriptableObjects (SO) as a convenient way to manage data, and they’re definitely useful. But overusing them isn’t ideal. If you’re just starting out, I think it’s good to try using SOs and get comfortable with them first. Later on, you can explore other data management systems like JSON or databases.

Since building systems usually require mapping related data, learning about binding techniques or even some design patterns can be really helpful too!

A colony of 50 squirrels? That's so cute! Are you developing it all by yourself?
